New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Sunday defended Mitt Romney against criticism that his wealth complicates his ability to connect with everyday folks, saying Romneys wealth should be a positive factor in the race.
I think thats what we want in a president of the United States, Christie told host Bob Schieffer CBSs Face the Nation, saying that Romney's wealth is a reflection of his success.
His defense came after Romney noted in a Michigan speech Friday that his wife Ann drives a couple of Cadillacs.
So the cats out of the bag, Bob, on the fact that Governor Romneys wealthy, Christie said. So he has a number of cars, many people whove made a lot of money over time do. I think this is just something where, to be candid, folks are looking for him to make trip ups.

Well we have seen what a poor BOY from Hawaii can do
I have no objection to the fact that Romney is wealthy. I object to the fact he is a jerk. I am a big fan of Chritie’s and am disappointed he chose to endorse Romney.
Christie ..sorry for the typo.
Mitt Romney was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Therefore his perception of life is a bit different compared to those with less rich counterpart.
His solution to whatever problems would be different due to his perception.
I have been told by a Mormon that he has acted much in a unMormon way and she would not vote for him.
I would rather have someone with Federal Government experience with a reformist attitude. Gingrich comes to my mind that would fit the requirements for our Leader.
It’s been disgusting watching those smarmy buffoons on the cable news shows giggling like school girls over the fact that Romney’s wife drives a couple of Cadillacs.
If Romney is the nominee, OWS will burn the country to the ground next summer, and Ubama will blame Myth.
If he was your governor you wouldn’t be a fan of his, believe me.
Wait!!!! I will trade you!!!
Bragging about owning American cars is a standard campaign statement in Michigan.
When John Engler ran for governor here, there was a lot of talk about Jim Blanchard overusing a state owned helicopter to get around. Engler made the stupid statement that if elected governor that he would drive his Oldsmobile to Mackinaw Island. The media made a lot of noise about it but it didn’t hurt Engler a bit.
It is, it's the perpetual head spinning finger in the wind "severely" socialist governing that Romney has shown to this date that isn't.
You can have him. A few qualifiers first about Lou Costello aka Christie ok? This is a man who in his capacity as a US Attorney said “Illegal aliens haven’t broken any laws’’. This is a man who is not Second Amendment friendly at all. Still want him?
I don’t care if Mitt is rich. It is the RINO part I don’t like. GO NEWT GO!
Has he made it yet? LOL!
Off topic, I hear there is an uncanny amount of vehicles on the island with Hawaii license plates too. ~snort
Yes. I want him. He does not differ with Perry re: immigration. And I do not think his idea of gun control is any different than W’s was. He does not want to come get our guns we use for personal protection. Getting AK 47’s and AR 16’s off the street are a whole different animal. No one wants our guns. I do not want an AK 47.
Or his inheritance.
AR 16's don't exist, and it's none of any politician's damn business if I own an AK-47. It does no more or less damage than a deer rifle.
LOL..point taken. good one
