Late in 2003, Charles Krauthammer coined the phrase Bush Derangement Syndrome to describe the rage of the left at our 43rd president, a loathing so intense that when the president was reelected his anguished opponents needed grief therapy simply to cope. This morphed in time into Palin Derangement, which infected the elites of both parties. And now some on the right have come down with a similar afflictionEstablishment, and/or RINO Derangementthe belief that a Republican party elite is conspiring against them and is behind all of their woes. The symptoms are a sense of intense persecution along with one of perpetual grievance, and a feeling of having been wronged by unscrupulous people, endowed with magical powers that allow them all too often to triumph, in spite of their being so wrong. Out of this has grown a series of what Mona Charen calls fables designed to make the victims feel better and avoid looking hard at their vulnerabilities. This may work in the sense of affording condolence. But the myths are simply not true

Romney’s record is solid?
You mean, his support for homosexual marriage, abortion, gun bans, taxpayer funded government run healthcare, perpetual government bailouts for failed businesses at taxpayer expense?
That’s a record you like?
Seriously? Romney’s resume is better than Newt’s? It’s one of the worst of the bunch. He lost the Senate to Ted Kennedy by the same amount Santorum lost, difference being Santorum actually got elected twice before. Mitt was a failed one-term governor who was so unpopular he declined to run for reelection. By that logic, the only mistake Santorum made that made him worse than Romney was trying to run for a 3rd term instead of giving up early. Then compare to Newt, who led the Republicans to take over the House after 40 years, a majority they held onto for 12 years. You also have to buy this woman’s assertion that Mitt is an “ex-moderate,” and not someone who spent his whole political career as a moderate and then claimed he was a conservative as soon as he started running his presidential campaign.
Quotes from staytrue:
Personally, I am almost dead set against Palin, not because of her, but because of the strident yelling of her supporters.
This anti Romney crusade has pretty much persuaded me to contribute to Fiorina just because I'm mad.
Romney is no slimeball. If you look at his private and/or public (and anywhere else) life, all you see is the utmost in integity, honesty, hard work, and excellence.
Just because you may disagree with him on the issues or don't like the fact that he is intelligent, rich, well spoken and looks gread, does not make him a slimeball.
You also brand yourself as a nitwit for saying so.
Sheesh.
There’s a certain trollsite that is trying reaaaal hard to be the new ClownPosse, and they just love Romney over there.
They don’t see anything wrong with his positions, nevermind that he holds the same positions as Obama oneverything.
We’ve had a surge in people pushing Romney due in part to that troll site.
I’d offer my own insights, but I never finished the article. Talk about boring.
I did get to the part about electoral success. She’s right. The establishment has dominated regarding electoral success. I wonder if the establishment’s electoral success has anything to do with THE BEHEMOTH FEDERAL GOVERNMENT we have?
Oh, dear. I’d always imagined her as a lot more attractive.
I’ll add that elections are about real ideas. This author thinks of elections as contests to see who gets to manage the beast.
As though we did not see the establishment republicans back non republicans in races in 2010, to defeat republican nominees that were tea party people, like in Alaska, where GOP-e Senators basically endorsed the Independent.
We have also watched the GOP-e attack Palin for 3 and a half years.
Now the rumors are that the GOP-e has a back up plan if we defeat their choice in the presidential primary.
Speaker Gingrich the conservative leader of the 1990s and history maker, has an incredible resume.
Romney as a Mormon Bishop and a failed liberal, one term Governor that couldn’t win reelection, does not come off as well.
“Romney as a Mormon Bishop and a failed liberal, one term Governor that couldnt win reelection, does not come off as well.”
Right you are - items that the BHO machine will use but that neither the media nor his supposed “conservative” endorsers every mention. Yet they all claim he’s the only “electable” candidate. Are they (his endorsers) brainwashed or do they not know these things???
