The Republican presidential aspirant was at it again on Friday, praising the greenery of his birth state in advance of next week's primary.
"This feels good, being back in Michigan, Romney said during a speech in Detroit. The trees are the right height. The streets are just right.
The latest bout of rhapsodizing almost perfectly echoes Romneys earlier comments about the size of the Great Lake states timber earlier this week.

Very easy to use and fun!
It is sad about romney even being permitted to run as a republican. It speaks of the death of the GOP as a viable party.
Seriously, I watched his remarks. Poor fellow is not wrapped too tight!!! My advice is simple. Primary voters in Michigan & Arizona casting a vote for Romney is a waste of time. He has no passion, no conviction, is boring...and stupid to boot. But.....worse, he has no compassion or feeling for the average American Jane or Joe, just like that elitist, America hater, POTUS Barack Hussein Obama. Cast your precious ballot for either Santorum or Gingrich!!!
His magic underwear is giving him a ‘woody’!
Y’know, you’re right. I amazed nobody has been commenting on the stuttering, as well.
These are are evidence that he is cracking from the extreme stress produced by the complete about-face in first running as a moderate then having to claim to be be conservative, in order to try to appeal to the base. He can hardly remember all the multiple policies and contradictory positions he has taken.
I’m beginning to wonder if he can make it all the way to the convention, especially if every state is contested for delegates all the way through June.
The SNL people don’t even have to write the skit, it’s all here. Someone should watch tonight and see if the plagiarize Free Republic.
I heard it earlier. Not as damaging as the Dean Scream, but I would say there is some element of him jumping the shark perhaps. It has got to be taking its toll. It might be the beginnings of a mental collapse, particularly if his internal close-of-week Michigan polls show him in trouble with Santorum...
Even the Detroit news who endorsed him, turned around and criticized him for editing their endorsement on his own campaign website.
What’s wrong is that he tries to pass himself off as one of us at election time, when he left the state 45 years ago. Why doesn’t he talk more about his time as Massachusetts governor.
I grew up around trees. The big pines of North Michigan. Mitt grew up in Cranbrook and Bloomfield Hills in the concrete jungle. The trees of his childhood are the trees in suburbia.
The sad part is that even if he wins the nomination he’ll ditch Michigan like a hot rock immediately after.
Yesterday I as Larry Sabato on FOX saying that Mitt is done spending money in Michigan because he won’t spend a dime here in the general election because he can’t beat Obama here.
Just like his straw poll win here. Brush the little people aside on his way to the cash register.
I had not heard about the Detroit News/ Romney Website dustup. Maybe I’m wrong, but it just looks like his campaign is in disarray and the stress is showing itself in his strange mannerisms more than media types are comfortable commenting about.
Detroit News Is Not Happy With Romneys Decision To Edit Its Endorsement
It’s his stump speech . . .
LOL. I can just see it. Oh those Michigan trees, tall, hard, magnificent! Lumberjacks, outstanding. This could be Monty Python on a camping trip.
“I dont get it. Whats wrong with mentioning the nice trees in Michigan?”
Well, Mr. Romneybot, there are three things wrong with it.
1) It sounds completely retarded (because it is).
2) Political opportunist pandering to a local electorate is fine to a certain extent but if the best pandering you can do is mention the height of trees (or feel compelled to mention it at all) then you have no clue what the locals want to hear. I am quite certain the people of Michigan will cast their votes on a myriad of issues and trees ain’t it.
3) I can only infer that he believes the trees where I live are NOT the right height. Anyone with half a brain knows that only Kentucky has trees that are just the right height. Of this, there can be no question.
Speaking of things getting stranger and uglier as cash flow evaporates, it looks to me like we are in store for the strangest, ugliest summer since 1968.
Fuel prices (along with skyrocketing food prices) are already causing cash flow problems for the average joe, the war situation looks to be getting very ugly very fast.
Interesting things are about to start happening, and things have a tendency to coalesce in August for some reason.
I'm not a Mr. nor am I a Romneybot. I appreciate the fact you feel Romney isn't worthy of the GOP nomination. Frankly I feel no passion for any of them. My goal is to get Obama elected. I'll support who ever is our nominee and I am not going to allow Reuters or you to decide for me that mentioning trees in Michigan is retarded, or what is or is not the "best pandering", or even who has the best trees in America outside of western Washington :-)
