The US has begun beefing up its sea- and land-based defences in the Persian Gulf to counter any attempt by Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz.
The American forces are also modifying weapons systems on warships so they could be used against Iranian fast-attack boats, as well as short-launched cruise missiles, the Wall Street Journal reported quoting US defence officials said.
The paper said Pentagon had notified Congress of plans to pre-position new mine-detection and clearing equipment and expand surveillance capabilities in and around the strait, through which 20 percent of world's oil supply passes.

Don’t you think that the NAVY doesn’t already have those helicopters at the ready? Just because there not in view doesn’t mean they are not there. (take it from an old Navy guy).
I hate to be the one to mention this, but the horse is already out of the corral.
Once Mr achmadinnerjacket gets the operational nuke, I’m betting the straits will be off limits to a certain countries war ships, or else.

No need. The Marines flying their AH-1Zs and AV-8Bs embarked upon Makin Island with HMM-268, which is already in the Persian Gulf, won't have any trouble dispatching those Iranians for their rendezvous with muhammad.
I have always been a Cobra fan... wish they would update that one. Apaches look fierce loaded down though. I guess they all do with enough armament.
Unknown to most people the military has its hands tied by the current administration. There will be no attack on Iran and Israel will be told to negotiate or have their funding cut.
