I'm surprised I got all the way to number 269 before I found a mention of "My Ol'55". Although
this version (complete with cool video) is the Eagles, I am still moved whenever I hear the original by
Tom Waits, especially in his older gravelly voice.
Referring again to the video- the '55 Chevy is such an American icon that I doubt anyone who ever heard the song thought of any other car, even though Chevy isn't mentioned in the song.
