WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is telling Latino voters their choice in the election "will not be that difficult" because he's the only one who backs comprehensive immigration reform.
In a reference to Mitt Romney, Obama says the GOP's "leading candidate" would even veto the Dream Act, which gives a pathway to citizenship to children here illegally if they attend college or join the military.

Hispanics will vote for their government goodies like any good minority in America.

Republicans have no political strategy in this area either.
Their last attempt was amnesty and that was a disaster for them.
There are no Illegal Aliens in the Armed Forces. You can’t do a criminal background check on someone who can’t prove who they are.
In 2008, if John McCain had received 60 percent [vice 55 percent] of the “white vote,” he would have won even if Barack Obama had received the entire Hispanic vote. The Reps would be better served to go after the non-Hispanic white vote.
Really, they will vote against what they think is FREE contraceptives for themselves?

Every-so often a story pops up about an illegal alien soldier who died in Afghanistan. Heck, didnt Republicans oppose a bill that would make US soldiers citizens even if they were illegal?

I wouldn’t count on that doing much at this point, but I do love the way he assumes that Hispanics are OK with high unemployment and inflation. To the extent Hispanics are still Catholic, they seem to have taken a lot of the positions American Catholics have taken (”lay ministers” distributing Communion, low Mass attendance and such).

Let’s put it this way. It is illegal for illegal aliens to serve in our armed forces. They are not eligible to serve.

You are so wrong. Hispanics love this country just as you and I do. They will vote for the person they think will make the best President and the best leader of this country. It is their country too and he will be their president.
This happens all the time. They are either granted citizenship posthumously for their families benefit or they are granted citizenship when their tour in the military is done.

Well, if he’s talking about the illegals - they shouldn’t be voting anyway. If he’s talking about Americans of hispanic descent, they don’t want the illegals here any more than the rest of us Americans do.
