WASHINGTON
President Barack Obama is confronting Americans' anxiety over rising gasoline prices by drawing attention to his energy policies and taking credit for rising oil and gas production, a greater mix of energy sources and decreased consumption.
Obama is heading to Florida on Thursday to promote an energy strategy that the administration says will reduce dependence on foreign oil in the long term. But Obama's pitch will also have a subtext: that the federal government can do little to halt the current rise in gasoline prices.
Obama will speak at the University of Miami and tour the school's Industrial Assessment Center, which trains students as industrial energy-efficiency experts. The program is one of 24 across the country.
White House advisers believe Obama needs to address the recent spike in gasoline prices, even though they see it as a cyclical occurrence. The current $3.58 per gallon is the highest price at the pump ever for this time of year.
Obama aides worry that the rise in prices could reverse the country's economic gains and the president's improved political standing. A new Associated Press-GfK poll shows that though Obama's approval rating on the economy has climbed, 58 percent disapprove of what he's doing on gas prices.
Republicans have seized on the issue, citing Obama's decision to reject a permit for

Oooh-let me be the first:
FUBO!
Let me be the first one to say that no Republican candidate will refute Obama’s wild claims that increased oil and gas production are due to Bammy’s energy policies.
What energy policy?
I will not be watching; I despise being lied to and having my intelligence insulted.
Let me know if he has to say anything important.
FUBO and your WHORE momma!
LLS
Ummm, did I miss something. “...reverse economic gains...”
I didn’t know that there were any economic gains.
I am just one of the great unwashed living in flyover country but wouldn’t drilling for our own oil help? Maybe let someone build a pipline. Nahh couldn’t be.
Let my predict what it will be. He intends to assign a team to look into price gouging and report back to him. He also hopes that we put air in our tires. He will slam the greedy oil companies with all their greedy profits and promise to punish them and redistribute their profits to help all the little people.
Doncha know, as Pelosi said LAST NIGHT in a released propaganda statement:
IT’S THE EVIL OIL SPECULATOR’S FAULT!
And after all of the years of lies and bulls*** “BUSH’S FAULT!” b.s., not ONE mainstream media outlet has dared to speak out on this hypocrisy.
NOT ONE.
They are all scared to death of what might happen to them.
O’Reilly brought an oil co. exec. on last night and he would not even let him finish any of his answers. It was disgraceful. The guy was shaking his head in disgust.
BOVINE SCATOLOGY!!!! Look at what happened to oil prices (and prices at the pump) at he end of Bush's administration when we opened up the country to drilling.
Prices dropped like a rock. It's Obama’s fault with the restrictions on domestic oil productions that the [prices are so high.
Drill here, drill now!!!! Buy oil from our next door neighbors, especially the one to our north.
If this country elects this POS again, I am earnestly going to explore the possibility of moving out of it. I do not choose to consort with an electorate that is that stupid and cares that little for this Republic after all it took to establish it. I’d rather live in Israel. At least its’ people really care enough for it to fight for it. Not us.
Along with high electric and natural gas prices.
His whole agenda is based on artificially raising the prices of energy via government regulation in order to make his "green" energy boondoggles cost competitive.
How long are people going to put up with this idiocy?
A 40% annual inflation year after year in the cost of electricity/natural/gas/automotive fuel isn't enough to wake the clueless sheep like American voters to the economic idiocy of the "green" movement and their mindless puppets the US Democrat Party?
Well I guess I won’t miss anything by sorting the sock drawer instead.
Keep your tires properly inflated.
Two words: Tim Russert
we should thank Iran for cutting supply.

You may as well pack your bags. The price of gas is the only thing that will derail an Obama re-election. Obama and the MSM can only spin empty wallets so much. Even the morons in the American public will believe their empty wallets before they believe Obama.
But, the bottom line is, the American electorate IS that stupid, and it’s only going to get worse.
