Whatever. The entire world should ban smoking and ban the existence of tobacco - a totally USELESS product, like pit bulls and democraps.

It’s rare to a NASCAR enthusiast that DOESN’T smoke. This won’t go over well at all. What’s next? Lowfat nacho cheese and baked Lays potato chips?

The NASCAR fans who smoke have the option to vote with their wallets by not attending. In this case it is not the government but a private enterprise limiting smoking.

This is interesting to me because the ONLY place I go these days where there is smoking allowed is the race track.

Having grown up in a smoking household, and worked in smoke-filled offices for many years, it now is really noticeable to encounter a place where smoking is allowed.

Attendance will go down b/c of the smoking ban, so ticket prices will go up which will further drive attendance down, so ticket prices will necessarily go up again....and so it will go.

But at least NASCAR will be PC compliant. Bah!

Is NASCAR serious about banning smoking? If they are they’re NUTS.The vehicles racing around the track probably produce more carcinogens than a single cigarette.

The even is held outdoors as well.NASCAR should leave its fans alone and let them enjoy the race or they wll soon become a has been.

I’ve attended numerous races. Very few smokers in the stands anymore. Just good business. You want to smoke, go out on the concourse so you are not smoking in your neighbor’s face. They’ not prohibiting smoking at the track, just in the stands.

I find the NASCAR event silly. People paying money and going to watch fast cars. Obviously I’m not into cars, fast cars. Even though I’m not a fan, I just cannot picture the event without people smoking. It seems those activities go hand in hand.

Banning smoking at these events is crazy. It’s like having an apple pie without the apples.
Instead of separating the smokers from the non smokers, they should separate the non smokers from the smokers. Lock them up in a small room and let them breathe their own air. See how long they last. Breath mint anyone? LOL

Let the smokers have their fun outdoors! They paid for it!

This is the wrong time to implement something like this. The campgrounds are barely half full and now they’re banning the diehard fans a cigar or a smoke while attending the only vacation they’ll take all year. Pure stupidity. What’s next Daytona, ban smoking at Bike Week and Spring Break?

I reckon there’ll be a market for non-smoking tires, too...

I won't be attending...won't be buying any nascar products either. Hell, the race looks better on my Hidef TV anyway. The only thing I'll miss is the smell of methenol exhaust fumes.

Another sign that NASCAR is losing its testicles.

Not just Nascar but the whole culture. It's all part of the ongoing wussification of America. Think of how tough the people were that came across the west in covered wagons. A trip that took months and cost everything they had, and sometimes their lives. Now people whine and bellyache for a new law when somebody in the car next to them at the light is smoking a freakin' cigarette. Lord help us.
