Leading in the national polls and within striking distance of scoring big victories in Michigan and Arizona next Tuesday, Rick Santorum is portraying himself as the little 'guy from a steel town' who will stop Barack Obama from accumulating regal powers.
'Back in 2008, the American public at a time of crisis went for a rock star that they believed could solve their problems, someone that they believed in to make a difference in their lives,' he said at the Maricopa County Lincoln Day lunch in Phoenix, Arizona.
'This election, Americans are going to go back to what we've done in the past. We're looking for leaders, not who we believe in, we're looking for a leader who believes in you.'
Seeking to contrast himself with both Mitt Romney, his main Republican rival, and President Barack Obama, Santorum said: 'I'm not a manager. I'm not a visionary.
'I'm a guy from a steel town who grew up understanding what made this country great and for the years that I've been involved in public life, put my heart and my effort on the line to make this country the kind of country that we all want to hand on to our children and grandchildren.'......

I think the server has gone goofy this morning. People’s posts have been tripled, such as yours.
Really sorry about that.
"cannot believe Ricky is missing a vetting on his record and ties to lobbyists as he claims to be so saintly. "The same thing that keeps everyone from going after Romney is at work. The Vichy Republicans at the head of the GOP have anointed Romney as their Presidential candidate and have little Ricky in mind as VP. Bishop Romney and Ricky is the Vichy ideal of a balanced ticket.
Whoever the Vichy Republicans anoint with elephant tinkle gets a free ride because the Fascist democrat thugs know they'll go along to get along and not threaten the 70 year control of government the Fascists have enjoyed.
Your right, he is the leader of the Washington DC Minstrel Show.
“The husband of one wife, a committed Christian and the right man for the job. “
I think I heard that on an ad for Jimmy Carter 76.

That is the same sentiment expressed at the end of this article (after wading though a lot of Tea Party bashing).

He was made into a “rock star” by the screwed up, sick in the head, liberal idiot snooze media.
Looks like we ARE going to have a brokered convention. Hope Rush is wrong...he thinks it will just be a way for the Rino’s in charge to pick their next guy, since Mitt can't quite seal the deal.
I know Christie ain't perfect, but I hope that since it looks like the powers that be like him....I could live with him. I would pay dearly to see him debate that skinny arsed little fraud. And for vp? Well, Alan West OF COURSE!
Can you imagine the heads exploding on MSNBC if West gets on board as VP? Why.....THAT'S RACIST!
It would balance Christie out though, for social conservatives. Dream ticket, if you ask me.
That's like saying 0bama is a bit liberal. With the big exception of fiscal policy (a significant exception, but still only one area) Christie is a Republican leftist from an extremely left leaning state. In NJ moderates/liberals like Bush are viewed as conservative.
I hear ya on Christie. However, we are going off the economic cliff...and I do think he (or Ryan) MIGHT be able to stall this and change directions.
If he got a socially conservative person to be his VP? I could live with Christie as Pres.
But, that is why I think it will be he who is annointed if Romney really does go into the ditch. Should be interesting.
So?
Not a manager. Not a visionary. Okay, well, that adds to the reasons Santorum shouldn’t be nominated.
We need a visionary who can manage the Executive branch.

We need a visionary who can manage the Executive branch.
"He (King George) has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance."
Exactly.
A visionary rekindling the American spirit whilst wielding the veto pen.
Even more frustrating is listening to the Reverend Rick, brag about himself and embellish his pathetic record that would even make Al Gore jealous.
What you fail to notice is, pretty much all Santorum does is talk about it. He says one thing but does the opposite.
Tricky Ricky talks all about CONservativism, moral values, family, shrinking government, etc,,, but when it comes down to it, his actual voting record must have been the result of a man who was either lying, or was an entirely different person than the one making the speeches.
