I can't believe people are still dragging up that tired nonsense about "sitting on a couch with Pelosi." Is his fashion sense good enough to be President? Does he know enough about sports?

Thanks for the link, Tiger! I'd be happier if Newt just stated flat-out that the whole damned thing is "snake oil science," as Palin puts it (and she's right), but I'm satisfied with what Newt has figured out: clearly Gingrich is poised to halt the steamroller of environmentalist regulation. Thanks for a link to retire the old lie about Newt, who in fact has also argued eloquently against cap and trade (I saw that link somewhere on FR, too).

Hey, don't get me wrong... I'll be behind Newt if he gets the nod, but people do things for a reason... His explanation for the couch thinggy was lame, and everybody knows it. And I can easily overlook it if he can see his way to never give into that pressure to schmooze up to the left again; for that is what he was really doing, schmoozing.

The left back then was riding high and Newt was desperate to stay relevant in that atmosphere. His actions sickened us conservatives who took a stand against politically driven global warming; ridicule for us and a desperate measure on his part to not be associated with the ridiculed. Let him show signs of repentance, go kick some liberal ass!
