Washington: Santorum 38, Romney 27, Ron Paul 15, Newt Gingrich 12

Rick Santorum is well-poised to win the Washington GOP caucus, especially if he pulls off another primary win or two before all eyes turn to the Evergreen State March 3. According to a new survey by Public Policy Polling, Santorum shines in the Pacific Northwestern state:

Wedged between the Michigan/Arizona primaries and Super Tuesday the Washington state GOP caucus hasn’t received a lot of attention. At least for now it looks like it could give Rick Santorum some momentum headed into the critical March 6th contests. He leads there with 38% to 27% for Mitt Romney, 15% for Ron Paul, and 12% for Newt Gingrich.

Santorum is by far the most popular of the Republican candidates with 69% viewing him favorably to only 18% with a negative opinion. Romney is the only other one who even has a positive favorability rating. He’s at 47/42. The disparity between Santorum and Romney’s numbers in Washington resembles what we found for the contests two weeks ago in Missouri and Minnesota, both of which Santorum ended up winning by a healthy margin.

Looks like it's time for another "day of 15 negative articles" on Drudge to take down Rick.

The liberal establishment and their Republican lap-dogs really are going all-out, aren't they?

I don’t trust these PPP polls when the left site, Daily Kos called to get Santorum as the republican nominee. For weeks, the media, has been sending out these unclaimed reports as if Newt and Romney are dead. I just don’t have trust in these polling groups and the media. Even Hot Air, has endorsed Romney and have posted on their blog that Newt is either too angry and has no ideas. When I post on the Romney blogs, they are coming out of the woodwork to attack Gingrich and continue to make more slly comments about Rick being too extreme. The media fears Newt because he can change the way things are going on. Anyone who cannot see that are falling into the media’s trap again of them picking our candidate. I am sorry, but Rick is the weaker since he speaks more of his social polices and the economy and recovery should be in the front.

Newt seems to be headed for Perry's award winning 4% range.

I thought the opposite...in a lib state like Washington, I would expect IranRon to be #1 in the polls.

Odd historical fact: Pat Robertson won the Washington State caucus in 1988.

Congratulations to Rick Santorum. Why is Newt so far down in the noise?

March third is a very long way off in this chaotic Primary.

It seems like Santorum has been getting cocky and has been blabbering his ideological superiority a bit much to the press. And by the way he has been slipping in the polls the last 2 days, I suspect Newt may actually be starting to come back.

One guarantee, Santorum has the stage, and he is too inexperienced and inept to know how to take correct advantage of it.
