The moment handcuffed woman, 20, was left brain dead after being Tasered for trying to escape police

A 20-year-old woman has been left brain dead - after she was Tasered by police and smacked her head on the ground. Danielle Maudsley had been taken to a Florida Highway Patrol Station after being arrested for a suspected hit-and-run in September. Handcuffed, she ran out of the door.

But as footage from a police cruiser dashboard camera reveals, Trooper Daniel Cole, who this week was cleared of any wrongdoing, fired a Taser's electric probes into her back.

She spun, fell backwards and hit her head on the ground. Bleeding and crying she tried to get up. She then blacked out and has remained unconscious ever since.

You are, sadly, probably correct. her mother will probably try and profit from the horrible tragedy of her daughter.

But as a parent of five and grandparent of eight, I still have sympathy for them...even if it is not well founded. One day, either here or in the hereafter, she will realize her loss.

And for that she deserved the death penalty, eh?

Never said that or alluded to it, or implied it. In fact I said I was sorry for her tragic death...but not sorry she is off the street. If you can't see the difference in those two...I can't help you.

In fact, I believe I could safely include the officers, in saying they too would not believes she deserved the death penalty or that it was anything other than a terrible accident that grew out of her bad, and ultimately tragic decisions.

In fact the only one who wrote those words was you, eh?

My guess is that they did not expect or consider her a risk for flight.

After two hit and runs, plus being a fugitive from justice, they didn't consider her a risk for flight?

I got previously banned for fighting with a paultard and reporting his stalking me all over FR. I think they banned him too, but I got banned for defending myself by the PC cops on FR.

What was your prior screen name? Who was your stalker?

He and the county will be exonerated. I can’t believe how lib this site has become. There won’t be a wrongful death suit. Not even a civil jury would take the perps side in this. Go on back to namby pamby land as Lee Ermy would say

National Institute of Justice suggested protocols for handling taser deployments and I believe there are instances where LEO’s are instructed not to deploy them on people standing up, because of the countless injuries that have resulted from the paralyzing falls by the victims.

They need to drill this info into the perps brains ,not the LEO’s . LEO’s get tazed in training and know firsthand its’ effects. Take the side of the perps if you’re comfortable with it. Maybe it hits too close to home when you read these stories and pile on the cops. It hits home for me on hit and run, car theft and other acts of irresponsible felony acts that go completely unpunished. You’re part of the problem

You’re preaching to the choir with me on this one. An out of control person committing serial crimes, is not a time to start blaming police.Kid had a deathwish and it apparently came true. Don’t jump on LEO for someone committing suicide by cop

A cop who weighs 2X as much as a woman who is already handcuffed loses control of her. That is incompetence.

Yep. You'd think he'd be able to maintain control of her.
I'd like to know how he lost control.

Wouldn't want to think he purposely let a squirming girl go loose
with the thought of, 'see how far ya get'.

Once they had her, and saw how small she was...immaciated really...had her cuffed and sitting there awaiting booking...no, they probably did not think she was going to bolt at that point is my guess.

But she did, and she made her bad situation a lot worse for so doing.

“So if the state orders gun confiscation, you’ll respect its authority and obey?”

Off the point, which was this woman was disobeying the law, running from the authorities and so caused her own demise.

Actions indeed do have consequences. I hate to disagree with you Jeff, however, she was a lot less of a threat to other innocent people than are most politicians in general. I would not mind her coming back around. Besides, Laz would hit it and who knows if she wouldn’t have someday become President, once she got beyond her youthful indiscretions. Really!

RickB444 was my previous name.

I don’t remember the name of the stalker. That was a couple of months ago. I just remember reporting him stalking me. And when he wasn’t stopped I told him I would report him for cyberstalking. That is what got me removed.

I guess telling you this will get me banned again.

You would think so but I have a feeling that revealing this about my last account will result in me being banned again.

The guy started cyber stalking me so I told him (since FR wasn’t doing anything about it) that I would report him for stalking me.

That got me banned. I’m not sure if it did him. I can only hope.
