About 7,000 people attended a Mexican Flag Day ceremony in downtown Santa Ana on Sunday afternoon, aimed at honoring the Mexican and American flags and educating many in the audience about their Mexican roots.
The eighth annual event which featured flag presentations, live entertainment, a brief history lesson and more ran from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Plaza Santa Ana, an outdoor space at the corner of Fourth and French streets.

The gathering was sponsored by Los 32 Por Mexico en Orange County a group dedicated to preserving Mexican culture and traditions and was supported by members of ADELSA (Asociacion de Empresarios Latinos de Santa Ana) a group of Latino-owned businesses in Santa Ana.
Día de la Bandera (Flag Day) is observed in Mexico on Feb. 24. Mike Gonzalez, a business owner and president of Los 32 por Mexico, said his group usually holds its event on the nearest Sunday to the holiday.
Sundays celebration started off with a salute to the flag of the United States.
We wanted this to be a tribute to this great nation, which has taken us in and given us so much, Gonzalez said.
It continued with a rendition of the Mexican national anthem, a lesson on the Mexican flag and its symbolism, and a procession of young women wearing traditional outfits from each of Mexicos 32 states.
The day also included entertainment by ballet folklorico groups, solo artists and musical groups.
The goal, Gonzalez said, was to educate Mexican immigrants and their children about their heritage.
We want them to be proud to be Mexican, he said in Spanish. We want parents to keep that umbilical cord to Mexico intact

We want them to be proud to be Mexican, he said in Spanish Why do illegals gloss over over, how wonderful and great Mexico is ? Why not return back to Paradise ?
This American of German heritage wouldn’t know the German flag if you strangled me with it.
The Mexican flag looks like the Iranian flag.
“Why not return back to Paradise?”
Because it’s a sh!thole.

Separatists extort US taxpayers to finance their activities----setting up a hyphenated Third World inside the US.
REFERENCE: The Mérida Initiative (also called Plan Mexico by critics) is a so-called "security cooperation agreement" between the United States and the government of Mexico and the countries of Central America, with the declared aim of combating the threats of drug trafficking, transnational organized crime and money laundering. The assistance includes training, equipment and intelligence.
In seeking partnership with the United States, Mexican officials point out that the illicit drug trade is a shared problem in need of a shared solution, and remark that most of the financing for the Mexican traffickers comes from American drug consumers. U.S. law enforcement officials estimate that US$12 to 15 billion per year flows from the United States to the Mexican traffickers, and that is just in cash, i.e., not including the money sent by wire transfers.
The U.S. Congress passed legislation in late June 2008 to provide Mexico with $400 million and Central American countries with $65 million that year for the Mérida Initiative. The initiative was announced on 22 October 2007 and signed into law on June 30, 2008.

THE "JUST HERE FOR A BETTER LIFE" SCAM "impoverished" illegals buy multiple fake identities for several thousand dollars each.
A family of four can have an income of $30,000 a year and still qualify for food stamps? A single mother, with two children who has a full time job that pays $7.25 an hour has an effective income of $48,000 a year when you add all the benefits she and her children receive from the government: food stamps, Medicaid coverage, subsidized child care, school lunch program, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, subsidized housing, Earned Income Tax Credit, etc.

REFERENCE The Federal ID that Pays Illegal Aliens Billions----November 28, 2011
......a recent analysis entitled, Treasury Department Says Illegal Aliens Collection Billions in Tax Credits, revealed that according to the Department of Treasurys Inspector General, more than $4.2 billion in additional child credits were paid out in 2010 to illegal immigrants. In 2005, the pay outs totaled $924 million. This program allows low income earners to claim a $1,000 per child credit.
EITC claims---can run up to over $3000 per claim. $20 billion is estimated to have been paid out to these cunning "impoverished" illegals. Most of them are collecting over and over again-----using multiple identities-----falsifying apps---claiming children they do not have and/or falsely stating kids are back in their homelands. Vote-crazed US politicians will do anything to get votes.

That might be the aim, but the link for some odd reason only shows Mexican flags.
“This American of German heritage wouldnt know the German flag if you strangled me with it.”
And you’re proud of that fact, eh.
Only in the sense that they both use the same set of colors. Using your logic, the French flag looks like the Russian Federation flag. There are a lot of flag pairs that are much more similar and hence more easily confused. Try Poland, Indonesia, and Monaco for example.
In the reference Similar Looking National Flags the Mexico / Iran pair does not even make the list.
The flag outside our Italian American Citizens Club fades over the winter and the Irish guys get a kick out of it.

EXCLUSIVE: Obama ICE Chief Ignores Agent-Shootings; In NYC Job-Seeking @ NBC, Viacom, to LA for Oscars (on Your Dime)
By Debbie Schlussel
Question: Why is Barack Obamas top immigration cop blowing off the internecine shooting of a top agent and the death of another?
Answer: Hes busy using your tax dollars to fly to New York in his job search, meeting with top officials of NBC Universal and Viacom, trying to land a position as an entertainment lawyer. Yup, you are paying for his post-Obama job quest, complete with a posse of bodyguards and top ICE staff, all of whom are aware of the job quest....
Mexican immigrants = Felons are not immigrants
Just out of curiosity I wonder what day of the year is American flag day in Mexico?
* ok, the palestinians are not really a country, but they have a sucky flag.
Only in the sense that they both use the same set of colors.
I am surprised you Failed to notice that both flags have an emblem on white, located at the center.
Same colors, emblem on white at the center = "looks like"
And I didn't need to run to some wikipage to tell me that. ;)
The colors are good, but in the wrong order, direction, number of stripes and it is missing the beautiful stars to make it a great flag.
The Palestinian flag looks like a maritime signal for: target this terrorist vessel.
Flags found on the really cool site Flags of our Ancestors
lol, yes, it does.
