What kind of country do we now live in. Children have their lunches taken away by the state because the lunches don't comply with what some nanny with a badge thinks is a proper meal.
I can't get fries for my kids when we go to the Olive Garden now because they have voluntarily removed fries from their menu.
And now we see that overweight Michelle Obama is going around getting candy companies to restrict their candy offerings.
The Nazis and the Communists were all-time control freaks. But not even they thought to control what their subjects ate.
As far as I can recall, what is going on right now in our country is a first. No dictatorship has ever tried to control the diet of its citizens probably because they suspected that doing so might cause a revolt.
But what do we Americans do. We sit by and take it. If George III could see what is going on now in America, he would laugh and rue the fact that he was born there centuries too early.
“I think Michelle Obama is embarassed of her fat ass and is taking it out on the public!”
As they say in Texas, she has an a$$ like a Government Mule!!
Can you site me one example of any Communist leader ever issuing an edict telling their subjects that they couldn’t eat a particular food item because it was unhealthy for them?
Teaching toddlers about sodomy is OK but heavens forbid they should eat potato chips.
As they say in Tennessee: "You can't ride two horses with one ass."
But there's always an exception. :)
You know nothing about Communism, do you? No edicts were necessary, food shortages were a natural occurrence. People starved, and in North Korea are still starving, is that enough? Your comparisons are trite and inappropriate, your understanding seriously lacking.
Understand that Communism was imposed on nations and the current statism in this country has been willingly accepted by the populace, if not even demanded. False history was taught there under the gun, it is taught here voluntarily!
I do not understand the people putting up with this.
Next, you won't be able to opt out your child from public schools. They have to have them where the children can be indoctrinated.

Is it really that difficult for you to understand the distinction between a dictatorship telling you that you can’t eat because there is not enough food and a dictatorship telling you there is plenty of food but you can’t eat particular foods because the dictatorship has determined they are unhealthy for you. Is that distinction completely lost on you?
I’m sure there were no edicts from Stalin, Mao et.al.
decreeing specifically what foods were or were not
allowed. But Stalin, Mao et.al. had no problem dictating
who grew what crops, where, and how much. And then dictating
where and to whom those crops went. Communism has starved
far more people to death than it ever killed with a gun.
That’s not the point. It doesn’t matter what they say. What matters is the control they exert via shortages and deprivation. If there is no bread to be had, you’re not going to eat any. Ditto butter, milk, meat, etc.
Yes. That is my point. Professional leftists should be proud of themselves. They have managed to come up with a new way of controlling people that not even Stain or Mao thought to implement.

There is no dictatorship here. We, as a nation, chose this government, and that is the distinction lost on you. Furthermore, the Communist dictatorships never told the people they couldn’t eat something. You seem to miss your own point, as well as the differences between dictatorships and the freely elected governments. It’s your fellow citizens who elected those who tell you now that you shouldn’t eat whatever, but guess what, you can still eat it, unlike the citizens of North Korea. The Communist governments, primitive as they were, never advanced to the point where our government is now, trying to protect us against ourselves. We, the voters, asked for it. Congratulations, but in the meantime, stop the drama!
Actually, the communists destroyed their food supply by confiscating all the farmland and giving it to their friends to run for the state. It led to mass starvation of millions of people. Their “grocery” stores had little to pick from and people had to wait in long lines, etc. and go without items we take for granted. Every aspect of life in totalitarian countries is controlled.
Wookie the food god.
Yes. It. Is. The. Point. Of. This. Thread.
Telling people they can't eat candy bars because they are unhealthy is something neither Hitler, nor Stalin, nor Mao could have ever even dreamed of doing. To find leaders insane enough to issue edicts like that you either have to travel back in time to Caligula's Rome or travel to present day Washington D.C.
They can survive the potato chip, but they will be totally corrupted by learning sodomy is “good”. The boys will be exactly like the Afghani ones where pederasty is their recreation. It destroys morality and corrupts children’s reality of the world-—they will never be able to use reason and logic when they believe ‘up is down’.
Correction, Wookie the fat a$$ food god.
The Italian Futurist artist and fascist sympathizer Felippo Marinetti unsuccessfully tried to get Mussolini to outlaw pasta from the Italian diet. He felt that pasta was boring and eventually wrote a cookbook with more exciting dishes and serving instructions, one of which could take advantage of school lunch time to include music instruction:
“The first course is a ‘polyrhythmic salad,’ which consists of a box containing a bowl of undressed lettuce leaves, dates and grapes. The box has a crank on the left side. Without using cutlery, the guests eat with their right hand while turning the crank with their left. This produces music to which the waiters dance until the course is finished.”
