I’ve settled on the firearms I like so it’s just getting ammo for them on a continual basis. Shop for groceries, pick up a box or two (Walmart) - this is when I’m home. In Australia both are very controlled.
Skydancer , you just described what I did today. Sixty bucks worth of Wally world groceries and 200 bucks worth of rounds for the all three of my pistols.
I’ve been doing this for the past couple of years. I work right next to a Walmart, so I stop in for groceries a couple of times a week. While I’m there, I pick up a bag of beans, a bag of rice, a container of salt, and a box or two of ammo to go in my emergency closet.
