Do you feel anxious if your cellphone isn't nearby?
Does just the thought of losing your phone make your heart pound?
Do you keep an extra phone on hand, just in case your primary phone breaks?
Do you sometimes take it to bed with you?
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you may be a nomophobe, and you are not alone.
Nomophobia -- the fear of being without your cellphone -- is on the rise, according to a new report sponsored by SecurEnvoy, a company that specializes in digital passwords.
Using the online polling service OnePull, SecurEnvoy found that 66% of the 1,000 people surveyed in the United Kingdom say they fear losing or being without their phone.
Just four years ago a similar survey found that only 53% of people suffered from nomophobia (no-mobile-phobia).

Interesting....but, what is the name of the phobia concerning not having your gun with you?
Coltaphobia
That’s called “obama’s second term”.
If “hoplophobia” is the fear of guns, then adding the privative prefix a- to the Greek root hoplo- would yield up something like “ahoplophobia.” That could mean either fear of having no gun, or the absence of fear of guns, take your pick.
The funds raised in these FReepathons go to pay our current quarter expenses. But we're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little extra now, if we can, and the rest next quarter.

I have Nomophobia because I can’t find a pay phone anywhere! And even if I did happen to find one I probably wouldn’t know how to use one anymore - lol
With a car breakdown I once asked a gas station if it had a pay phone. The attendant took pity on me and let me use his cell phone.
I thought “Nomophobia” was the fear of batting against Hideo Nomo.
I’d be happy to help some of these folks out by shoving their phone in a place where it would always be with them.
I thought it was "Noamophobia"

I would’ve thought nomophobia was the fear of losing your last phobia, as in “I got no mo’ phobia! What’ll I do?”
I always take my phone with me at bedtime. It has a very reliable alarm clock.
I went out alone with my infant and no phone, by accident, last week and I was terrified. How did we live without these things? But there were public phones everywhere. Not any more.
What is a “cellphone”?
I have a couple of the d@mned phones.
If I didn't need them for work, I'd take a hammer to them.
“If I didn’t need them for work, I’d take a hammer to them. “
I’m on 24 hour emergency call. Whenever it rings, my BP goes up. When I retire, very soon, I’m going to shoot the damn thing! Did that to a string trimmer once. Felt really good! 44 mag for the trimmer. My Colt Woodsman is ready to take out the cell phone!
Im not that bad off but I do have the phone near my bed when I sleep but I had a land line phone there before I got rid of it.
Yep - hate the phone and only carry so my wife can reach me. Otherwise it’s a fancy watch. Carry my gun because it has more potential to be useful.
