Is Barack Obama electable?
Further evidence of the erosion of President Obamas electability comes from Iowa as the liberal Des Moines Registers latest poll shows the president is behind 3 of the 4 remaining Republican presidential candidates by 2 to 7 points in a state he won by 10 points in 2008. The numbers:
Ron Paul 49% Barack Obama 42%
Rick Santorum 48% Barack Obama 44%
Mitt Romney 46% Barack Obama 44%
The increasingly irrelevant Newt Gingrich is down 51%-37% to the president.
Iowa is one of 11 states that are considered toss-up by Real Clear Politics.

If gas is $5.00 a gallon this summer like they are predicting he’s gonna lose big!
If the bummer can’t carry Iowa, it is going to be tough for him to get re-elected.
Go Newt!
The fact that Obama is ONLY down 2-7 shows the hopelessness of our cause.
I can’t believe that Zer0 is not down 100% to 0%. They don’t call him Zer0 for nothing.
“Increasingly irrelevant Newt Gingrich” is not going to sit well with many on this forum, but time will tell how true or false that phrase is.
“The fact that Obama is ONLY down 2-7 shows the hopelessness of our cause.”
then quit and wear an Obama shirt.
Really... I think if Obama is down 2 - 7 points actually shows the hopelessness of America.
We’ve got an avowed socialist destroying America, and down only a few points? I still think he’s gonna get his clock cleaned.
Bump!
Couple days ago Rasmussen released a batch of New Mexico polls showing barky crushing all the GOP candidates by 20. As I recall, during the razor-thin Bush elections, Iowa and New Mexico were both right on the edge. So is this a polling quirk, or is New Mexico that far gone already?
All the exuberant young people who rallied to vote for the first black JFK succeeded only in voting in the first black Jimmy Carter. Needless to say, they’re disappointed.
reductio ad adsurdem, how cute...that's what I'll do, I'll get an Obama t-shirt.
Likely voters too.....
This is amazing in what I call the Vermont of the Midwest. Another Freeper suggested putting Terry Brandsad on the ticket. Not a bad idea, especially if there is a deadlocked convention.
Branstad ? Brother... dragging out all the old RINOs...
Brandstad a RINO? When he first ran for Governor, his predecessor (Robert Ray) was reluctant to support Branstad because he was seen as too conservative. His first election was largely because his opponent had tax problems. Perhaps you are thinking of someone else.
