Rick Santorum drew applause from Ohio tea party voters - but perhaps raised some eyebrows, too - when he suggested Saturday that President Barack Obama leads based on a theology different from that in the Bible.
It left some wondering whether he was implying that Obama subscribes to a religion other than Christianity.
The comments came at an event in Columbus shortly after the former senator from Pennsylvania said efficacy and safety improvements in oil drilling technology are considered by the president to be "a dangerous technology."
"It doesn't fit his pattern of trying to drive down consumption, trying to drive up your cost of transportation to accomplish his political science goal of reducing carbon dioxide," he said.
Obama, he continued, is not motivated by "your quality of life.
It's not about your job. It's about some phony ideal, some phony theology, Santorum said. "Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology. But no less a theology.

Unless the quotes are taken out of context, he sounds as if he is saying that Obama’s motivation is what might be called green extremism. And it’s not really unreasonable to say that, for many on the left, tree hugging is a religion.
He doesn’t appear to be referring to the question of whether Obama is a Muslim. He is, according to Muslim belief. Moreover, there is no evidence that Obama ever was baptized.
But what Santorum is pointing to is that Obama seems to be a true believer in all sorts of leftist fantasies, which are destructive to the citizens he is supposed to be helping.
Allahu Akbar!
Liberation “theology” is not Christian, it is a Marxist ideology packaged as “Christian.” Add an Islamic element, and you have Barry Hussein’s brand of “Christianity” - which does not bow before the Creator, but rather expects all to bow before the “benevolent” Barry Hussein himself.
FReepmail Antoninus to be added or removed.
Good stuff, Rick. Keep it up.
Apparently other people in states with upcoming elections do not agree with you. Look at the polling. GO RICK!!!
I knew the MSM would get their panties in a wad over this. Now, Santorum’s campaign will be off message again.
Btw, I agree with Rick, and was really ticked off when Obama used the national prayer breakfast as an opportunity to twist Christianity to support his leftist ideology. Obama’s religion is liberalism and I really doubt he worships anyone but himself. Still, this is not an argument Santorum can win, imo. Not with the MSM lying to protect Obama.
Mr. Obama took “to whom much is given, much shall be required,” completely out of context, and he took Jesus’ words about being spiritually ready for the second coming and twisted them into meaning that we owe his cronies more of our hard-earned money.
This government is not showing good stewardship of our taxes.
Mr. Santorum should have called him a blasphemer.
Rick is correct. The theology Obama goes by is NOT the one written in the Bible, unless Jeremiah Wright has been doing some writing of his own lately.
If Santorum's comments do cause some left-leaning Christians to reconsider their support of Obama, then great. But I agree with an earlier poster that this can also get the campaign off-message, and personally I don't think making this election into a theological battle is a good idea.
If Santorum is implying the Bastard in Chief is a Muslim, he’s right.
In the Christian church there are a lot of different stripes of Christianity. . . . Im just saying hes imposing his values on the church and I think thats wrong, he said.
It’s also unconstitutional. Rick should say that, as that is much more important to me than his personal opinion.
Black Liberation theolgy or if you prefer
BLT
“Black Liberation Theology” isn’t Christianity in any real sense.
I dont know, but I doubt that Obama thinks that the Bible is any more the word of God than is the Koran. Or that either is.
