Rick Perry to Make 1st Appearance With Newt Gingrich at Arizona Debate

Texas Gov. Rick Perry will appear with Newt Gingrich for the first time at the CNN debate in Mesa, Ariz., on Feb. 22, a spokesperson for Perry confirmed to ABC News.

Perry will appear in the spin room with Gingrich after the debate. There are no other events planned, at this time.

Perry endorsed Gingrich when he dropped out of the race on Jan. 19 but has yet to appear publicly with him.

It made me sick, too. Where were the principles and the backbone? But by that point the whole thing felt like a snowball careening downhill, out of control.

Governor Perry deserved their endorsement. He was the only Evangelical they knew he is a devoted Christian. You know I was for Newt Gingrich but he and Santorum are both Catholics and Governor Perry is also 100% pro-life. Those pastors lost all of my respect with they didn't endorse Governor Perry. That should have been a slam dunk, no-brainer.

I love Newt and what he did for us in the 80’s and 90’s. He was the man!

I like Perry as governor of Texas. He is the man TODAY!

And Perry for getting out of this race.

He was splitting the conservative vote.

I agree. I will say one thing for this election season so far---it's flushed out the pretenders.

Gov Perry deserved their endorsement based on his record, and he continues fighting for his principles.

Perry just signed into law two bills aimed at human trafficking.. .

“Perry said the legislation gives a voice to the voiceless” while striking out at those who engage in human trafficking, which the governor described as “modern-day slavery.”
