Can a President do that?

This is a serious issue, stop tainting it with talking about Santorum’s endowment.
If Santorum supports states rights as he asserts, I should think he would want those federal lands returned to the states and that the states would decide how to deal with THEIR land.
Santorum: "One of the things I will talk about that no president has talked about before is I think the dangers of contraception in this country, the whole sexual libertine idea
Its not okay because its a license to do things in the sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be. Theyre supposed to be within marriage, for purposes that are, yes, conjugal
but also procreative. Thats the perfect way that a sexual union should happen. We take any part of that out, we diminish the act. And if you can take one part out thats not for purposes of procreation, thats not one of the reasons, then you diminish this very special bond between men and women, so why cant you take other parts of that out? And all of a sudden, it becomes deconstructed to the point where its simply pleasure. And thats certainly a part of itand its an important part of it, dont get me wrongbut theres a lot of things we do for pleasure, and this is special, and it needs to be seen as special." If his God didn't mean pleasure, he wouldn't had invented the orgasm. Stoopid Rick as stoopid talks.
Gays and adulterers also have orgasms. Does that mean G-d’s OK with that?
Serious issue, indeed. Then why half of the things he’s saying are sheer idiocies?
As you are one of his greatest fans here, just explain that to me: what qualities does he have to become president?
Or do you want a second Obama, unvetted, dilettante and ignorant in management of even an ice cream stand?
We don’t need another stinking lawyer, who only knows blathering his mouth.
WHERE is Santorum plan to redress the situation in America? Hello?
But last I checked it took an act of Congress to change them...or even to put a judge on one of them.
Do you support Newt? If so, he has talked about abolishing the 9th Circuit which can only be done constitutionally by Congress. Of course, I’m sure both Rick and Newt realize they cannot unilaterally abolish courts but they would both support Congressional action doing just that.
I have no idea what G-d thinks.
Why don’t you ask him?
If G-d wanted them NOT to exist, they wouldn’t.
“I have no idea what G-d thinks.”
Then read the Bible instead of touting left wing nonsense.
Oh, the Federal courts are out of control, there’s no doubt.
But last I checked it took an act of Congress to change them...or even to put a judge on one of them

Yes, Gingrich goes into good detail on all of this, the solution portion starts at 19/54 PDF
http://www.newt.org/sites/newt.org/files/Courts.pdf
He also says this:
For example, if every major candidate running for President in 2012 were to pledge to join the effort to challenge judicial supremacy, then it would send an unmistakable signal to the judicial branch that it had better consider its rulings carefully lest it subject itself to severe erosion in its public support.
So I think it is probably good that Santorum is also making a ruckus about the courts.
He went on to bash the Endangered Species Act, cringing as he talked about how it hurts business and has hindered logging in an area in Pennsylvania: We have the Endangered Species Act, which has prevented us from timbering all sorts of acreage there. Its bankrupted the school district and the like because of the governments inability to allow for us to care for our resources. A forest in my opinion is like a garden and youve got to care for it. If you dont care for it, you leave it to nature and nature will do what it does: boom and bust.
Newt Gingrich is not some lackey who woke up and decided he wanted to be President. Hes been doing serious work his entire life. This experience Newt has could turn our country around for the better if he became President. Newt is the most experienced surgeon who has the know-how to fix our sick country. Its up to his supporters now to try to educate America why we feel this way. I believe if voters are given the correct info about Newt they will not walk, but literally run to him given the other 3 choices in this campaign!
You are great with words, Marguerite, and thoughtful approaches, and right now, for the grassroots involved in Newts campaign, and the field staff, the campaign has taken quite a few hits the last couple of weeks. Newt is standing his ground, but little by little, people are getting discouraged and starting to fall short in their involvement and commitments. It is just a momentary stall, and we can pull out of it...
There were 150,000 calls from the phone banks made into SC which propelled Newt to victory... with a 22% rise in participation. We need to duplicate that, and if you could try to motivate and encourage people in your own unique way, in your universe, and if everyone could do that, we could take Newt’s campaign up a notch.
What we can do is make phone calls and give money, and get involved in the states on the schedule for February. There was an rsvp teleconference tonight with Newt, and though he sounded tired, he said he is going to try and do something on his own, nationally, with the debate time that has been cancelled.. Only all that takes money... money money.
Here is the link for CNN for anyone who would like to send them an email, urging them to hold the debate anyway... if you would, please try and post it wherever you feel appropriate... the second link is for making national calls... and the third, Money...

That’s a great post, TBF.
Don’t be discouraged.
There’s a long way to Tampa Convention, and the so-called “front runner” has still NINE times less pledged delegates than Newt.
I still don’t like that. Approximately eighty six percent of Nevada is owned by the federal gov’t. Should the federal gov’t be able to sell off 86% of a state? I don’t think so.
Santorum: “I love to eat potatoes, and I know how to spell ‘potatoe’!”
