Well -- almost everything. There was this one guy who just stood out as a class act, an all-time baseball great, and a bundle of energy who stood for everything a sports fan would want to see in his team: enthusiasm and a hard-nosed, never-say-die competitive spirit.

I always hated Gary Carter no matter where he was playing—until he came to the Giants for a year, and I grew to like him a lot. Changed my whole opinion of him.
