Army Orders Soldiers to Wear Fake Breasts and 'Empathy' Bellies
Soldiers don fake belly, breasts to better understand pregnant troops' exercise concerns

CAMP ZAMA, Japan The Army is ordering its hardened combat veterans to wear fake breasts and empathy bellies so they can better understand how pregnant soldiers feel during physical training.
This week, 14 noncommissioned officers at Camp Zama took turns wearing the pregnancy simulators as they stretched, twisted and exercised during a three-day class that teaches them to serve as fitness instructors for pregnant soldiers and new mothers.
Army enlisted leaders all over the world are being ordered to take the Pregnancy Postpartum Physical Training Exercise Leaders Course, or PPPT, according to U.S. Army Medical Activity Japan health promotion educator Jana York.
Developed by the Army in 2008, the course includes aerobics classes, pool sessions and classroom studies on the physiology of pregnant women.

But I could be mistaken.
you are funny and correct.

I’m at a loss for words. I’ll be taking a couple days off from news so I don’t smash my computer.
I don't think so. I can also imagine that most of those guys would've done the same.
What I really would like to know is who in the command chain gave the order that started this thing, and why.
When I was in Thailand, I asked a young guy if he was married yet, as is the custom with chit-chat. He held up his hands and said “I have two wives”. :)
WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS?????
READING THIS MAKES ME WANT TO GO BERSERK!!!!
You don’t say! Perhaps there’s a business opportunity for you there. You can relate the need for instruction in nutrition, biomechanics, sports medicine, leadership, and just plain presentation skills to their contributions to killing the enemy - pirates, for instance.
We’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one, FRiend.
I read this earlier and kept looking to see if it was satire. Sadly, it isn’t.
The “feminism” of our men began years ago. It continues and that is what is destroying our culture and our nation’s backbone.
Men can and should be sensitive, but they can retain their masculinity while doing so.
Said individual is most likely NOT addressed as "SIR".
Please label this satire.
Yes... we're trying a new tactic - seeing how much damage is done to the enemy while they're rolling around the floor laughing uncontrollably...
Why should instructors know the physical limitations of their troops and tailor the instruction accordingly? Why should pregnant soldiers have a different exercise regimen than any other soldier? Enough of this wussifying of our troops. Work them like rented mules. If they miscarry, it'll toughen them up.
Hang on, folks... read the whole article before freaking out. These 14 soldiers are at a school to become fitness -instructors-. This particular class was specifically about how to conduct fitness classes, to be the instructor, for groups of -pregnant- women. In that case, making future instructors understand what their students are dealing with just makes sense. |
Now it's wear something on the front to empathize with "pregnant chicks." How long before wear something up the rear to empathize with "fags?"
Is that what "The New Army" means by "Be All You Can Be?"
I think the idea is dumb for a couple of reasons. First, in agreement with others, pregnant women don’t belong in basic training intended for men, or for a battle field, and in my personal opinion, in the military at all.
Secondly, Women don’t wear their unborn baby’s on their skin, or under their skin, but deep inside. No amount of external wear can simulate one’s internal organs being displaced, internal pressure on the anterior spine, and muscles stretching where they’ve never been before.
Third, hormonal changes are accompanied by physical sensations such as extreme, incurable exhaustion, as well as mental perspective changes and emotional ones. No amount of external wear is going to replicate those chemical responses. External wear is not going to simulate constant, 24/7 nausea and vomiting, dehydration, and inability to eat along, with the physical responses to that in conjunction with all the rest that accompanies pregnancy.
Soldiers get to take this stuff off at night when they go to sleep. Pregnant women don’t get a break, and as pregnancy enters the final trimester, things get a whole lot worse. Pressure from an external pessarie can’t emulate the fullness of an infant’s head in one’s pelvis with full circumferential presure. As already said, the pregnancy simulating garb is on the outside, but pregnancy is on the INside.
Men have a musculature which differs from a womans. Soldiers are accustomed to carrying 100 lbs on their backs, so wearing something on the front for them, is merely going to balance the weight.
Their musculature is supported by very different hormones, and larger blood vessels.
The only real difference they may experience is bulkiness in the front which gets in the way of tying your shoes, and alters your balance, but they sure aren’t going to feel their hips spreading or notice engorgements in every area blow the waist, legs, feet...
Finally, I would HOPE women aren’t going through basic training at 6-9 months pregnant which makes the external pregnancy garb, stupid at best.
Nothing’s in the way during the first three months, the changes all feel chemical at that point.
There’s nothing wrong with men (and sometimes even women) learning some feelings of empathy, but I learned a long time ago that a man doesn’t learn empathy and respect as a tot, or isn’t born with much empathy in the first place, it’s not something that can be taught. Either you have it or you don’t...according to men I’ve talked to about it.
The idea is a stupid one on all fronts and serves as a perfect observable example of the extent of the problem.

Yeah, but you probly get another ribbon for your fruit salad just for attending.
It never "makes sense" for male soldiers to wear fake breasts and boobs! "Sense" would be to have men train men and women train women. Period!
