So I guess Newt is a Romney stalking horse.
cute
Re-read my initial comment. People do not seem to realize that even though a Super PAC says they are for “Newt”, the candidate (in this case Newt) has no control over what a Super PAC does. Newt could express through the media that he’d like the Super PAC to go after Romney, and the Super PAC could say, “No, we are going after Santorum, our big donors told us too, afterall.” I wish people would wake up and realize that candidates have no control over Super PAC and in fact, are not allowed any relationship with them whatsoever.
“Romneys problem is that he has to go negative on Santorum, or he will lose. But if hes seen as going negative, it will backfire.
Clever political insulation for the Romney campaign? Inquiring minds want to know, but will the MSM ask?”
I remind everyone that it is illegal for a candidate to have contact with a Super PAC, even one which supports the candidate. Doesn’t this just leave the door open for a Super PAC to misrepresent who they actually support. The Newt Super PAC can do whatever it wants, even if it hurts Newt, and there is nothing Newt can do about it, aside from disavowing it.
As far as many Santorum supporters can recall, there was a lot of talk that Rick was Romney’s stalking horse and was working for Mitt Romney.
“So I guess Newt is a Romney stalking horse.”
__________
I don’t see that. I think Newt realizes that Mitt is not liked and whoever is the last one standing aginst Newt is likely to be the next president. Defeat santorum and then Newt is the persident.
