LOL...I'm laughing because when I finally got a computer and learned DOS, Windows had been out for years and I refused to upgrade...after I'd memorized hundreds of DOS commands, why did I want to mess with newfangled Windows? When I finally caved, I used Windows 95 for years after Microsoft stopped supporting it, going to Chinese websites for updates to keep it compatible. I didn't get my first cellphone until a couple years ago...how would my big fingers make anything work on those matchbook sized gadgets? And now, here I am, stabbing away on a smartphone with two thumbs, sitting in my cave waiting for the mastodon steaks to cook on the campfire ;^)
I also first learned DOS & adapted to Windows with great reluctance. I kept my Windows 95 for 9 years before I finally got XP. Waiting for Windows 8 to come out. (Unless I try Apple, which is a different world.)
I thought I was the last person on the planet to get a cellphone. The only reason I did, 8 years ago, was because after slipping on ice during a blizzard & breaking my ankle, I realized a cellphone might be nice to have for emergencies.
Some folks have to be dragged kicking & screaming into the modern era. (Am I the only one who finds Facebook a big bore? Maybe I was spoiled by the FREEP, in a way my own social network -- far more substantive; people far more interesting.)
