Media Matters called for private investigators 'to look into the personal lives' of Fox employees

A little after 1 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2009, Karl Frisch emailed a memo to his bosses, Media Matters for America founder David Brock and president Eric Burns. In the first few lines, Frisch explained why Media Matters should launch a “Fox Fund” whose mission would be to attack the Fox News Channel.

“Simply put,” Frisch wrote, “the progressive movement is in need of an enemy. George W. Bush is gone. We really don’t have John McCain to kick around any more. Filling the lack of leadership on the right, Fox News has emerged as the central enemy and antagonist of the Obama administration, our Congressional majorities and the progressive movement as a whole.”

“We must take Fox News head-on in a well funded, presidential-style campaign to discredit and embarrass the network, making it illegitimate in the eyes of news consumers.”

I listened to the handwringing by all of the fox shows tonight about the unscrupulousness of Media Matters and the methods of the left and I laughed. Wake up and figure it out.

This is from the period when Glen Beck’s daily 5pm TV show was literally KILLING THEM, every single day.

Soros said he would get even, and tried to warn Murdock off, but when that didn’t work, out comes the criminal charges against NewsCorp in Europe, and Beck is off the air.

Beck spoke about a Soros lieutenant basically threatening (Vito-style) his own chief of staff, telling them to back off.

While Fox and probably Beck were undoubtedly the recipient of intense pressure, GB did indeed land on his feet with GBTV - two hours every afternoon, plus other very good programming that lays the left bare. I remember him saying in the last month on Fox: “The Left will long for the days when I was only on one hour a day.”

Now, how much $$ did Soros funnel into Media Matters?

I guess it would be a time for them to try this since Fox's viewership could be suffering-They could see an opening and take it. One thing you must admit, the radicals are not giving up or being importantly neutralized in message. I look for a blink future until we have a battle of ideologies.

I haven't had FOX on for weeks now, thought I would tune in, but not until I feel sure they have gotten over Whitney, which won't be for another 2 weeks, I'm sure.

I think so too, annieokie. With Drudge, Dally Caller, Hot Air, NRO, Fox (and many other outlets) being very pro-Romney, you cannot find honest journalism. I read a story off a link from TownHall to Huffpo and they actually have a fair article on the race (and the comments of the readers are very eye opening)

I gave up on them election night 2004. The only sane person on the set was Michael Barone. The rest of them ran with the very misleading exit polling results and were having ‘exotic’ fits of euphoria at the prospect of a JFKerry win.
