Dachshunds Rule - thanks to you all for your stories and love for OUR breed! Darned 'ol Kennel Club - THEY don't know!
Here's my little guy Rex, having a bit of an issue with our having given him ear drops---he ran around the house and then ended up in one of their little "day cubes" ... Rex Hates Ear Drops!
Enjoy!

Never mind. I misinterpreted what I saw earlier. The elkhound won.

The Wire Hair Dachshound won the hound group. Nor. Elkhound came in 4th (though I can’t imagine a better elkhound).
Seems to be a problem on the WKC website with the hound group results

I agree with a previous poster, I’m sure BoB (best of breed) and BOS (best opposite sex to best of breed) was meant. It can’t mean WD or WB because Westminster is a champions only show.

Yup, I know WKC is a CH only show . I guess I was trying to get Rintense to be more specific LOL so just used the WD / WB terminology.
I’ve not shown for 6 years so I’ve been outta the loop with all this GCH stuff and how that goes. I read last night that they , WKC , are changing their rules somewhat , starting next year. I didn’t read the details but saw the headline on the WKC website.
I also looked up the labrador line up last night to see if one of the dogs I co bred made it in but he didn’t. But I did see that one of my favorite kennels has multiple dogs entered so I’m rooting for Pristine for BOB in Labs ~

Forgive my lack of Congratulations. ..... so I’ll say Congrats now. Better late than never :-)
I retired for the night right after I posted to you. I was in danger of having a keyboard stuck to my forehead ( falling asleep at the puter and hitting head on keyboard )

I haven’t shown in years either. I’m planning on showing again so I’m going to have to learn the new rules, titles etc.
One thing I’m watching are the clothes. Some of these people need wardrobe consultants. “Does this dress make me look fat?” , YES!
I’ll look for the Lab in group tonight. It’s always fun to have a rooting interest.

the lady you saw with the Belgian Tervurens is the lady who has shown our dog in the past and we got our present dog off her. Darlene Lauren is her name and in the Belgian dog world the Lauren family is probably the most widely known. Shame they did not get through but for some reason German Shepherds usually get through and all the Belgian family, shepherd, sheepdog etc never get through to the final. Having been in that world for a bit I can honestly say much of it is who you know and who the judge knows. Again thank you for reminding us all this was on and I'll be looking forward to seeing the working dogs tonight.

I thought Martha only did black things - black Chows, etc.

What is JAMS? I haven’t paid much attention to AKC stuff in 20 years so all the new things they added mostly passed me by (all that Agility stuff, etc; my world was just conformation and obedience, with occasional notes on field trials).

What is “GCH”? - I’m betting it doesn’t exist! Or is that a specialty club honor?
