Why isn’t Sarah running?

Her CPAC speech today was a barn-burner, hitting every conservative, small-government point and pumping out soundbites that will no doubt resonate in the public dialogue for days to come. Some of my favorites:

“Drain the Jacuzzi!”

“This government isn’t too big to fail, it’s too big to succeed.”

“We don’t want an economy built to last, we want an economy built to grow.”

“This is Obama’s Washington.”

Her signature line in this speech was “The door is open.” She meant that political conditions are becoming conducive to a renewed commitment to small government and liberty. People’s mindsets are changing. We are not governed by the “rules” of political seasons past; the door is open to choosing our candidates and charting our nation’s future on a different basis. The door is open to not accepting a continuation of the false compromises of previous decades.
**snip**
We can’t have a candidate who sounds like Mitt Romney, but will lead the way a small-government conservative would. That’s not an option. What we’re doing in this primary season is coming to grips with that reality. I think Palin knew instinctively that we would have to, before it would make sense for her to jump back into the electoral fray.

She believes God has a plan for her life, and that He gives her a certainty in her spirit about the big choices she has to make. I suspect she has had a peaceful certainty that joining the campaign as a candidate for 2012 was not something she should do. If she were to analyze it, she might say that God knows better than any of us how the voters’ concerns and expectations are going to change.

Meanwhile, the door is open.

She's scared and nobody will pay her enough.

Never fails.

Humblegunner is as reliable as the Energizer Bunny in posting a snarky, perjorative post. lacking in both logic and historical context on threads that shed a positive light on Governor Palin.

That’s what I’m expecting. If she is getting this much positive feedback from the CPAC crowd, well ahead of any of the currently running candidates, I think she could take advantage of a brokered convention and be the Pubbie Prez hopefully for November. By her staying out of the current process she isn’t getting the Leftist smear campaign that could be happening right now.

I bet the Leftist elites (both Pubbie and Dem) are quaking in the boots right now.

Why isn’t Sarah running?

Because she's dancing.

And he sounds jealous too..jealous that she makes more money doing ONE appearance then he will make in his lifetime. Reading posts from him is like reading the crap from the Daily Kos, perhaps he would feel more comfortable posting amongst his own kind

The reason Sarah isn't running is that she has a life beyond politics.

I know that it is hard for people to imagine that, but she has her own life and family, is young yet and people do not realize the rigors of running for office or executing that office once elected.

Look for her to run 2 cycles down the road.

She already said why. She isn’t running because she didn’t want to.

Why isn’t Sarah running?

Sarah realized she could make a lot of money on the speaking circuit and she is. That's the choice she made.

I’m not precisely sure myself, but I am really starting to wonder if she hasn’t been planning on running all along.

Or, at least, she has to be wondering if there is a way for her to get back in now. Possibly through a brokered convention.

Consider:

Mitt is really not taking off. He says the right things, but nobody really believes he means them because his flip-flops are too numerous to give him any credibility.

Newt can work a crowd and he’s great in debates, but he has all those past character issues, Dede Scozzafava, global warming pics with SanFanNan — and there is the nagging suspicion that we haven’t seen all the nasty stuff on him.

Rick is awesome and I totally love the man, but I just don’t know if he has the sand or the moxie to take the hardscrabble fight to the Bamster.

As for Paul, he should be running as the candidate of the Monster Raving Loony Party.

But what if Sarah were to show up at the convention and say “OK, I wasn’t going to do this, but since you people can’t get your collective heads out of your ass, I’m willing to step in.”

Half the delegates would have screaming orgasms on the spot and the other half would be so divided behind their particular candidates they wouldn’t be able to form a credible front against her.

I’ve always known that woman is smart. I was bitterly and intensely disappointed and more than a little confused when she said she wasn’t going to run. I don’t believe she’s about money.

Could it be that she’s right where she planned to be at this stage of the game?

One thing for sure, her CPAC speech does prove one thing — her star power is undiminished and if anyone could throw a million volt charge into the Conservative base, it’s Sarah.

SA. She’s smart and shrewd enough to know it’s not het time. She’ll run but not now.

BTW HG, don’t give up your day job if you have one.

Now, now, leave HG’s PDS out of this, as usual, he’s concise (which, btw, I appreciate) but very cryptic in posts.

Oh.

I didn’t think it would have been a FReeper because you have been here almost long enough to know that if you are going to make remarks like that as a courtesy you ping the person.

Why isn't any of the A-team running? Face it, no matter who of the four you like the best, none of these were on our want list this time last year, or even a few months ago when the biggest decision was Cain or Perry. And none of the four remaining is the conservative we were looking four. All we can hope for is whoever does win selects one helluva VP running mate.

The msm has trashed her and she is a joke to the average American? Let’s be honest. The average person views her as a ditz and not a viable candidate? Just being honest..

Is that what this is all about?

Money admiration?

Really?

I guess I missed the memo because all I got was hosed!

Divide and conquer only works for the GOP-E!
