Why isn’t Sarah running?

Her CPAC speech today was a barn-burner, hitting every conservative, small-government point and pumping out soundbites that will no doubt resonate in the public dialogue for days to come. Some of my favorites:

“Drain the Jacuzzi!”

“This government isn’t too big to fail, it’s too big to succeed.”

“We don’t want an economy built to last, we want an economy built to grow.”

“This is Obama’s Washington.”

Her signature line in this speech was “The door is open.” She meant that political conditions are becoming conducive to a renewed commitment to small government and liberty. People’s mindsets are changing. We are not governed by the “rules” of political seasons past; the door is open to choosing our candidates and charting our nation’s future on a different basis. The door is open to not accepting a continuation of the false compromises of previous decades.
**snip**
We can’t have a candidate who sounds like Mitt Romney, but will lead the way a small-government conservative would. That’s not an option. What we’re doing in this primary season is coming to grips with that reality. I think Palin knew instinctively that we would have to, before it would make sense for her to jump back into the electoral fray.

She believes God has a plan for her life, and that He gives her a certainty in her spirit about the big choices she has to make. I suspect she has had a peaceful certainty that joining the campaign as a candidate for 2012 was not something she should do. If she were to analyze it, she might say that God knows better than any of us how the voters’ concerns and expectations are going to change.

Meanwhile, the door is open.

This is a great take on her speech by the author. No compromise with the statist elites, no Mitt, the door is open!

Why isn’t Sarah running?

She's scared and nobody will pay her enough.

A brokered convention means a reset, and Sarah could step right in.

"She's scared and nobody will pay her enough."

Is that a RINO horn on your face or are you just glad to see me?

Because people wanted somebody who was smarter, more articulate, better prepared, had less baggage and was better able to hold up under the pressure of the media and the Chicago Way. Well, that’s what they said, anyway. Based on what I’ve seen out of this field, I’m not sure they actually meant it. Or they have their own private definitions of those qualities to none of which the rest of us happen to be privy.

Harder to hit a moving target.

She would rather play king maker than get involved in a dust-up.
She would have been a great canditate but she isnt running. So we should quit pining for her and get on with the fight she dont want to fight.
You’re either part of the plan or part of the problem or part of the landscape.

Hey, a box of rocks can actually read (and quote) a title to an article.

I'm shocked.....

As long as she hasn’t endorsed anyone, she can still slip into the Repulican convention’s running after the first delegate vote if it is inconclusive.

I doubt anyone will have the magic number to be #1 at the convention’s start. A brokered convention sounds like a sweat lodge.

“Because people wanted somebody who was smarter, more articulate, better prepared, had less baggage and was better able to hold up under the pressure of the media and the Chicago Way.”

Yeah. And we ended up with four horrible (and quite possibly unelectable) second-stringers as our ONLY choice.

Oh come now Gunner, don’t be so coy!

Why not just say what you told me a couple weeks back. Surely you remember your very ‘pissantesque’ implication about Palin.

If you just HAVE to post on topics that annoy you, just admit up front you have a personal issue with SP so people unfamiliar with your vapid PDS trolling don’t mistakenly believe your opinion on the matter has any value.

Do it for your country. Do it...for the children.
