I’ve never made any secret of my presidential preferences. I supported Sarah Palin for president from the time of the 2008 election until she announced that she wasn’t not going to run nearly 3 years later.
After her Oct. 5 announcement, I spent nearly two weeks researching and comparing the records of all the GOP candidates who were in the race at the time. My conclusion was that Newt, for all his negatives, was still the only Reagan conservative of the bunch, and I’ve been supporting him ever since.
I rejected Santorum on the basis of his love for earmarks and other unchecked federal spending, as well as his rejection of the principle of liberty guaranteed by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
She is a great woman in regards to her personal life, but just not a good political candidate in my opinion. But this is all history and no longer matters. This latest Lemming stampede to Santorum is what is most troubling. For those of us who do the research, and know the details, are left puzzled as to why these blind Santorum supporters are so easily swayed.
I too think Newt would be someone with backbone. Santorum on earmarks doesn’t bother me as much as it does some. I do not know where you learned your history but the Declaration does NOT guarantee us anything....it is a statement of principles
