Didnt the US have some kind of fast track naturalization in place then ???

The dad of one of my friends, now deceased, was Canadian. He became a US Citizen while serving in the US Army in WW-II. He had documentation of same and was proud to show it.

I joined the army in 1959. The citizenship thing was still in effect them. 3 people in my outfit in Germany joined to get USA citizenship, two Mexicans and one Swede. They all stayed the course and received their citizenship papers upon discharge.

Also when Aldos father became an American citizen his wife and minor children would have automatically became citizens at the same time...
