The NFL and a major television network are apologizing for another Super Bowl halftime show.
There was no wardrobe malfunction, nothing like that glimpse of Janet Jackson's nipple eight years ago that caused an uproar and a government scrutiny. Instead, it was an extended middle finger from British singer M.I.A. during Sunday night's performance of Madonna's new single, "Give Me All Your Luvin.'"
In front of some 110 million viewers on NBC and uncounted others online, she flipped the bird and appeared to sing, "I don't give a (expletive)" at one point, though it was hard to hear her clearly.

I say fine Roger Goodel 50k for being the moron in charge. You would think the NFL would learn by now.
Never heard of Mia..
A rapper misbehaving? Really?
They are all such model citizens.
Anybody doesn’t believe these loser-burgers don’t do this stuff intentionally needs to buy my bridge I got to sell....cheap.
Bridge just been renovated.
Soon it’ll be like the commercials, we’ll all be voting and guessing who’s going to be obscene during the half time show.
If they get away with it....shame on us.
Yep... all the class of a gathering of OWS knuckledraggers.

I’ve read that most Super Bowl half time acts perform for free. Just for the exposure to the huge TV audience. Those of us who never heard of MIA know who she is now.
This makes 4 or 5 times I have seen thios or another story like it posted this morning.
I am sure other boards are filled with it too.
She was seeking publicity and she got it.
The solution to this is simple. Just write a clause into their contract that if any performer does an obscene gesture, uses profanity, etc.. that they will owe the NFL some huge amount of money (say $20 million).
They do this stuff, because they think the publicity is worth it financially. Make it not worth it financially, and they’ll stop doing it.
Maybe she’s a honey badger...
Apparently she likes to shock her audience with her “Bad” Act......
A video diss”ing” on her music (WARNING/GRUSOME IMAGES!!)......

The first time I saw Madonna’s new video I was unsettled by the sight of 2 black rappers dressed in cheerleader outfits, blonde wigs, and literally cheering MADONNA! throughout the song.
There is an inexplicable scene where a limo pulls up by Madonna as she walks on the sidewalk and unseen villians attempt a drive-by shooting. Also, inexplicably, football players hurl themselves in front of the bullets.
So.....Madonna wears a Cleopatra crown and arrives via being pulled along by slaves.
The rappers -for some reason - agreed to sing this moronic tribute to Madonna’s ego.
Usually I do not sympathize with those who are vulgar.
This time I might cut MIA a little slack.
It could not have been a pleasant experience.
Better yet, sign MIA for the halftime entertainment of the Pro Bowl.
What is it anyway?

Absolutely, Brookhaven and I am very surprised one of the brilliant (/sarcasm) lawyers for the networks has not demanded some sort of clause to this effect.
In fact, outside of a Standard Fine, I would include a clause which would include any fine the network might suffer because of inappropriate behavior. Something like 10X the actual fine.
Until these overpaid, over hyped, questionable talented individuals are forced to start reaping the repercussions of their anti-social behavior nothing else will stop them. Hit them in the only place it will hurt, their bank account. They certainly do not care about a bad image in fact they seem to wear a bad image as a badge of honor.
The solution is simple...just use country artists.
No problems.
Re Madonna’s halftime show...”I liked it better when Steve Martin did it...” (props to Bruce Wolf)
The half time show was over done and over long. I watched about five minutes and then did the necessaries such as warm up pizza and hit the rest room. I’d rather watch some more Super Bowl commercials as these try to be cute & funny, neither of which apply to the half time shows lately.
