That is a GREAT read. No one knows anything and trying to do something as important as electing a President of the U.S.... this is disgusting to think such people could have so much influence on this election.

Guess the states RNC HQ's and precinct captains are laughing their heads off, just keep the little ones busy, we make the decisions anyway.

Wow, you credit precinct captains with FAR more power than they actually wield.

In actual fact, precinct captains have virtually no power at all.

I have been a precinct captain many times, I never had any power beyond pleading for cooperation, or resigning.

Their job is to recruit members, organize volunteers for get out the vote activities, and keep volunteers in compliance to party rules - state law.

Caucus meetings are run by a chairman and secretary nominated by those in attendance.

Where do you see the power to control the caucus vote in this?

The vote tally is counted by “Tellers”, not precinct captains, the vote is witnessed and recorded,
Then it is counted again by the state party, with witnesses, and recorded.

All volunteer organizations have to deal with new people and incompetence, it’s natural when amateurs engage in large projects.
Some counties/precincts do a better job of training and organizing than others.
My Caucus went very smoothly, we trained for it in advance.

Clark County is a party town, it seems they may not have worked out the process so well as other parts of the state did.
