Are “write-in” votes counted in Virginia? In Tennessee they are and some other states also. Was wondering if Virginia happens to be one of them.

Newt is not on the ballot in some of the Tennessee counties, but the voters there can help by petitioning their County Sup. of Elections to get him on the ballot...OR getting the word out that “write-in” votes are counted. Then in the counties where Newt is not on the ballot, his name can be written in. That is my understanding, but if I am wrong I hope a TN Freeper will let me know.

My understanding in Tennessee that write-ins are allowed but they have to be registered.

Write-ins are not allowed in VA that I’m aware of.

No. Not in the primary. While the law doesn’t specifically prohibit the GOP from counting write-ins, they’re not required to either. This is the same group who decided to drop Gingrich and Perry from the ballot, so I wouldn’t plan on them opting to count write-ins.

Not so. In Tennessee a candidate must be pre qualified to be eligible for write in, in the primary. In the general election , you may vote for Mickey Mouse if you like

I don’t know why Newt would not be on the ballot in some counties. In Tennessee one must be pre qualified to be written in ,in the primary. Newt meets that requirement as far as I know
