Atlanta, GA -- Newt 2012 National Security Advisor Stephen Yates shared the following statement in response to Senator Rick Santorum's criticism of Newt Gingrich's American space policy:
"I am deeply concerned that Senator Santorum so easily relinquishes space development to the Chinese and Russians.
"American success in space is not only about being the first to develop a station on the moon. It is just as much about the explosion of math, science, engineering and national security technology that will launch America into a new age of innovation and prosperity.
"We owe it to ourselves to set grandiose goals and then achieve them. It is the American way."

All of which can be accomplished without NASA. An actual space plane that can go in and out of space would be a nice first step.

Its just not a good time to be announcing massive new spending programs The USA is too focused on health insurance, reproductive regulation, dietary concerns of the individual, and automobile manufacturing to be spending any money on frivolous things like space travel or defense.

YUP!
Newt is another OBAMA.
Newt has NEVER worked in the private sector. All Newt knows how to do is SPEND MONEY, dream about BIGGER GOVERNMENT, BASH CAPITIASM, promote CLASS WARFARE - even in primary donations. Newt doesn’t get it. People are NOT throwing money at him because they do NOT want him so he chimes in wiht CLASS WARFARE on that too!
Newt needs to busy himself with another mistress.

Its just not a good time to be announcing massive new spending programs Dead wrong. It is the right time to discuss America Security and the space program has contributed so much to our safety that it cannot be measured. It would be backward thinking to assume that massive spending would hurt when we measure the benefits it offers. Wake up!
To: VinL
Newts space policies would be a great idea if we hadn't had 3 years of Obummer spending. We are now totally Broke. The next President is going to have to spend full time get us out of our financial mess and not fooling around with legacy projects.

I understand where he is coming from..
The non Newt people are going to spin this wrong.
He didn't say add more governnent agencies. He said use the private sector and by cutting waste in the goverenmt can assist the free market ideas. The people in Fla NASA are just sitting there/it needs help, people. Obama intentionally cut the programs.>>> Jobs<<< I would like to see space exploration technology in the future. Maybe you will feel better if China controls NASA/silly thinkers.
To: Logical me
Right, we just love all that Obama spending don’t we?
Trillions and trillions of new spending will just bankrupt this country all the faster.
