If zero has 40% locked up, or even 35% there is no way Newt, Mittens or Paul can get a 36%. But like I said, if we’re going to lose to zero, may as well have fun doing it.
What if the newly forming Gingrich / Palin Tea Party rebellion were able to score Ron Paul, with some deal?
Imagine Gingrich / Palin independent, with Ron Paul as their publicly declared Fed Chairman.
Even Obama would freak.
That's an interesting take on things. Third parties always seem quixotic and hopeless, but given the shambles the GOP is in, and the near certainty of defeat, this might be an opportune moment to advance a third party alternative. Something robust enough to become the second party while the GOP withers away. Because it's starting to look like that alternative in its infancy has a better chance of survival than the decrepit GOP.
