Koch was a grunt in Italy in World War II, IIRC.

Compare Mayor Ed Koch, the Democrat, to Bloomberg the Republican. We live in strange times.

I don’t know what this writer is talking about. I worked in NYC in the late ‘70s and all through the ‘80s. The place was a horror. Koch turned the City over to the dregs of society, the bums and drug dealers. The was the Parking Violation scandal, and a whole host of bad stuff happening. NYC was a dump under Koch.

A dry read, but Koch is quite a specimen as politicians go.
...public-sector unions, race baiters, and social advocates. Within these groups, a liberal with sanity found no home.
Now that's saying a mouthful.

Though he has now endorsed Obama for reelection, he has also been an occasional thorn in the presidents sidebacking Turner in the Weiner special election; criticizing Obamas chilly relationship with Israel; and publicly hoping that current New York mayor Michael Bloomberg enters the presidential race as an independent.I'm hoping Bloomy goes for it.
During Super Bowl, for 30 Seconds, 2 Mayors Will Be on Same Side (Bloomy & Mumbles push gun control)
IIRC, their gun control plea will only be seen in some parts of the country. Maybe Bloomy's presidential ambition explains that.

Such a love letter is this - I hope the mayor’s in good health.
