Attorney General Eric Holder paraphrased: “At the Obama Administration’s direction, firearms were illegally sold to ineligible buyers, illegally transported across the Mexican border, illegally returned to the United States, and then illegally used in the crime of murder, repeatedly breaking more than a dozen federal law. We need a stronger gun trafficking law to prevent this from happening again!”
The criminals are the federal government bureaucrats. The best way to control that is to prosecute and incarcerate them so they can't do it again. That goes right to the heart of the problem instead of writing laws to restrict the freedom of citizens who had no part in their criminal enterprise. Perhaps defunding and eliminating the criminal bureaucracies themselves is the right piece of legislation to prevent a repeat of the bad behavior.
