I warned you. In order to promote the election of Mitt Romney we would have to go through all sorts of philosophical and policy contortions.
And here we have ended up, with Romneys most bombastic media supporter, who has not spared a foul word for Newt, issuing a full-throttled defense of and support for Romneycare, Ann Coulter, Three Cheers for Romneycare! (h/t INC in Tip Line)
The argument really is a masterpiece of deflection, blaming everyone but the author (Romney) for the failure Romneycare has become, and running red herrings across the path such as a jumbled discussion of federal constitutional law and mandates.
Mark Levin has a brilliant takedown of Coulters arguments. (If embed not working, click on link above.)
**snip**
Suffice it to say this is not what Coulter said just months ago, when she said Romneycare shows the failure of even statewide universal care. (Full 6 minute video here.)

Ann has truly lost it, displayed for all who wants to look. What a sad ending for her.
Coulter. Shark. Jumped.
Not anymore.
Gee, it was less than a couple of years ago that I had Coulter’s pic on my FR about page. Then the Log Cabin fag flap and then the Chistie lovefest and the wheel really turned.
Oh, boo-hoo. The woman I once wanted to marry now makes me puke. Closet dyke?
I think it will come to light in the future that someone supporting Romney bought Ann Coulter’s books by the palette.
That’s really the only logical explanation for Coulter’s about face.
The same is probably true for several mainstream commentators that suddenly seem to be inexplicably in the tank for Romney.
It’s not illegal, because it isn’t a bribe. That’s why it’s a common practice in politics.
Having seen her practically frothing at the mouth on the tube, I think she’s either on the verge of a mental breakdown, or borderline bipolar. She ain’t the same woman who up till a few years ago wrote meticulously footnoted books supported by logic and hard facts.
Mark Levin’s show was a good take down of Ann’s article. He was very nice throughout, which is a lot more than anyone can say about Ann’s takedown of Newt and other GOP candidates. He treats her as a friend and the attitude throughout is one of caring that she understands the real issues she’s blindly trying to thwart. I’d say that the past couple years she has been hit and miss with her journalism, as she has taken the wrong side on many things now. I think her new associations are beginning to cloud her once very bright, extremely witty, and concise thinking. I rarely read her any longer.
Actually, while I’ve always liked her writing and wit, I always thought she was somewhat personally unstable. She’s incredibly high strung on television and those of us who remember of meltdown over Harriet Miers wrote her off as, again, unstable. Now she’s going lib on us. This happened to Little Andy Sullivan when he made friends with the disgusting Dan Savage.
As far as a political shift, she either has a boyfriend or girlfriend who is influencing her.
Ouch... thats gotta hurt.. a real colonoscopy.....
bump for later

Bill Maher?
For God’s sake she needs to eat something! I mean something with carbs!
“Why would she sell her soul like this and dismantle her own conservative persona that she has cultivated over many many years?”
The dustbin of history is filled with people whose condescending, ignorant arrogance and pomposity has been their undoing.
Ann is just one in a long line.
