With just days to go before Nevada Republicans head to the polls to choose who they want to take on President Obama in November, reality show host Donald Trump is injecting himself into the race and endorsing Newt Gingrich.
Trump's office announced Wednesday that he would make a major announcement Thursday morning in Las Vegas, without providing details of what he would say.
Two sources confirmed to CBS News that the publicity savvy businessman plans to endorse the former House speaker in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination. Nevada holds its caucus Saturday.

No Newt fan but this is excellent news. Romney has gotta go.

Not surprised. The scrappy guy gets The Don’s vote.

Hey, it sure can’t hurt Newt, even if Trump is a plutocrat.

Trump is not a conservative so I don't think conservatives will care but it might pull some of the masses watching the tube to look at Newt more favorably.
All endorsements are good...
To: BlackjackPershing
Lindsey and now the Donald. If the way these two have been trashed on FR, including by those who are now pushing Newt, I assume there will be mass disavowment of the endorsements.

Whatever Trump does will be trumped by its iffy and conditional provisos. His words have a short shelf-life.

Hey I’d rather have him for Newt than running as he said he would....I have to say “endorsements” are certainly telling which side of right and wrong folks are on.

I guess I don’t get why Trump is looked upon as some sort of authority on anything. The man is a clown. Albeit a very wealthy clown, he is a clown nonetheless.
Seriously, why does he get so much attention?
I just don’t get it.
And I seriously doubt that his opinion will influence anyone.

I can't stand to listen to narcissistic Trump but many people seem to like him and if his endorsement helps Newt, then go for it.

I hope you are right. Drudge (the detestable man that he is) is trying to plant a seed that Trump will endorse ROMNEY tomorrow, not Newt. Time will tell.

Trump is wise. He too would get the sh*tstorm treatment from Mitt. Better that it be faced by a fellow with the tenacity to weather these tempests of merde.

However much of a personal ass Trump might be, he does stand as a symbol of the classic American ideal of making it big by working at it. Trump isn’t a subsidy queen, and does not try to warp major world economic systems like Warren Buffet and George Soros do to augment their zillions.

I hardly think International Groups think Trumps a clown..International leaders deal with Trumps business ventures all the time....and he knows how you have to deal with “foreigners” better than most in WAshington who walk the halls of Washington trying to appear important....to someone.
