Sharpening his criticism, Rick Santorum on Wednesday laid into Mitt Romney's health care overhaul in Massachusetts and Newt Gingrich's shifting policy positions as he sought to deny either rival the Republican presidential nomination.
Santorum, looking to find footing ahead of Saturday's caucuses in Nevada and Tuesday's primary in Colorado, told supporters in a freshly polished campaign speech that Republicans would guarantee President Barack Obama a second term if Romney or Gingrich were to win the nomination. Signaling he was unwilling to exit the race and help either rival rise, Santorum said he would push on all the way to the Republican convention, if necessary.
"I'm in this race until the very end," he said to boisterous cheers during a speech that his advisers cast as a major address, but offered little new. "I'm going to stay in this until the very end."

He was waiting to use his ‘above the fray’ scolding of Newt and Romney at the last debate. He’s in as a spoiler at this point.....he’s hallucinating if he thinks he’ll go from 13% to plurality except maybe in Missouri.
Where was he many months ago! You can’t decide to take the Conservative side so late in the game and make a difference!

Rick Santorum is an A-class asshole and spiteful, petty minded prick. Just as he supported Arlen Spector the RINO and killed off Pat Toomey's chances in the PA primary in 2004, now he is stubbornly & spitefully bound & determined to deny the nomination to Gingrich while ensuring victory for Romney. Personally I would not be surprised if Santorum is working clandestinely for Romney by being offered some cabinet post if Romney wins..... which is as unlikely as a snowball in hell.
Santorum is a bitter, spiteful, small-minded prick!
That’s a bit harsh. Just call him Ross Santorum.

Small-minded loser. But then we already knew that"
Besides knocking Gingrich & Romney - What is his platform & what does HE plan to do if elected? We may not be in agreement on any of his positions.
If he won't drop out - how about talking about HIMSELF instead of everyone else!!
Why he's wasting time and energy out here is beyond anything I learned in politics over the last 40 years, and from it's study further back.
Ridiculous hubris. Or, payola.
He,he.
Just a thought. If Santorum stays in the whole way through the (mostly) proportional delegate states, we could have a brokered convention. For a political junkie, that is a dream come true. Is there some other candidate they could agree on who would be better than Newt?
The Elites were talking Jeb Bush. It’s posted on FR. Andrea Mitchell spilled the beans saying that if Romney can’t beat Newt they want a brokered convention so they can pick their guy. And some FReepers are dumb enough to let them pull that stunt.
Just curious. What is wrong with Jeb Bush?
My choice would be Bobby Jindal.
Unfortunately his parents weren’t citizens when he was born.
Neither was Obama’s father. If that is the criteria, why the whole fight over where Obama was born if the undisputed fact of his father’s non-citizenship settles the matter.
