On Wednesdays Special Report on the Fox News Channel, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to a statement former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney made earlier in the day that he was not concerned about the very poor.
Krauthammer argued that the statement was ill-advised because it reinforced stereotypes about Romney and how he is out of touch with the poor.
Well, this is bad, Krauthammer said. Its not just the day after a big win in Florida, he had only spent a whole day on a sound bite that could be taken out of context, and it has been and it will be. And its not just that it strengthens the stereotype of Romney as the patrician who is only aware of the poor as people who clean the streets and wash his car.

Granted that CNN baited him, still this shows Romney isn’t intelligent enough, not quick enough on his feet to be president with a hostile press. Kind of like Joe slow Biden.
Mitt knows nothing about anything but Mormonism. He is a missionary...and a tireless one at that.
Mitt cannot comprehend poverty.
He grew up super rich...and has only gotten richer!
And now he wants to give his Church the entire country...he's a Mormon, don'cha know. A missionary...
Knock knock...it's me, Mitt. Here's your new Bible!
I agree 100% - Romney better be prepared for these types of questions for the next 9 months. Thus far, he looks ill-equipped to handle the baiting questions.
This was right before Newt said that we could fly the very poor to the moon.
Agree that this was a political mistake - but true. Politicians can’t tell the truth or the MSM will take them to the woodshed.
Krauthammer would be just happy if Obama wins. Yes, I despise Romney, but K’d be tickled pink if Obama won.
Someone ought to fly Mitt Romney to the moon. This gaffe is astounding.
Krauthammer nailed it tonight. Romney didn’t talk about helping the poor become part of the working class, but consigned them to stay poor.
Gringrich can compare this with his welfare to work programs, when he was Speaker of the House.
Romney obviously was trying to send a message to the middle class which does needs help and from whence the majority of his votes would come. He would have been better served to have have repeated the old JFK line: a rising tide lifts all boats. He compounded his gaffe by implying that so called “safety nets” actually help the poor rather than perpetuate their status on the Demonrat plantation.

It’s worse than just a gaffe. As Mark Levin described today, it’s the ramblings of an incoherent moderate who has no idea what the conservative view on this kind of issue is.
Mitt is a friggin disaster waiting to happen.
Very telling to hear Dr. K at the end of this clip
“Romney doesn't know how to articulate his new found ideology”

Congratulations, GOP! You've got your own Joe Biden!

Anyone voting for Mitt Gaffney?
ROMNEY HATES POOR PEOPLE.
Charles was just on BOR and not very supportive of Mitt, but appears to have had a bit of an attitude adjustment RE: Newt.
Newt gave a great post election speech last night with bullet points and Romney is whining about no concession call.
Hmmm.
Is it possible the e dweebs are waking up?
Nah.
Romney should know Socialism has few rags to riches stories compared to American history. Conservative solutions allowed by our Constitution have allowed for equality rich or poor, and conservatives want that for rich and poor.
