Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has picked up an endorsement from former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo (tan-KRAY-doh).
The failed gubernatorial and presidential candidate is a tea party favorite.
Santorum was campaigning in Colorado on Wednesday ahead of next week's GOP caucuses there in hopes of building some momentum for his White House bid. Santorum also was endorsed Wednesday by former congressman Bob Shaffer and former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton.

one loser backing another
I wonder if Tancredo supported Santorum when Santorum was endorsing Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey.
Rick san-TOE-rum has my vote. LOL
Years ago when he first ran for Senate, I had a Rick Santorum sign in my yard. He’s no longer my cup of tea. I’ve been in town halls and asked him questions. I’m not sure who he represents besides Rick. If I’m going to vote for a pol he had better represent us Americans.
Tancredo I supported with my $$$ just as I did Lou Barletta. Both actually put the needs of the USA first instead of ideologies and lobbyists. What we need is an entire Congress of patriots that put the USA first. Most don’t. What we have is the best Congress money can buy.
Someone’s got to encourage him to stay in the race so that Mitt can win.
Notice the typical left-wing perjoratives used against Tancredo. “loser”, etc.
Oh, the politico article also used left-wing rhetoric.
“failed gubernatorial and presidential candidate”.
:-)
If you have been in PA a long time... do you have any links with actual quotes from local papers, when The Splitter actually supported an individual mandate. I think it was 1994, thinkprogress has a story, but links only to local newspapers that characterize The Splitter’s speech given, but no direct quotes. I would really like to have a link that gives an actual quote of him supporting an individual mandate because a lot of people don’t find the summary reliable... even some names of local papers back then where i might find an old article... thank you very much.
Sorry, but everyone is NOT on the Gingrich band wagon.
“I wonder if Tancredo supported Santorum when Santorum was endorsing Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey.”
Do you think that it’s possible for conservatives with good intentions to prefer Santorum over Newt? Because otherwise you sure have a lot of really conservative RINOs out there.
1994 ... wasn’t that back when Newt Gingrich and many other conservatives supported the individual mandate—without thinking it through—as a way to defeat Hillarycare and single-payer health insurance?
And Rick Santorum actually battled Senator Harris Wofford over the issue of “universal healthcare” and won; this was less than two years after Wofford had used the “universal healthcare” meme as his primary weapon to defeat ex-Governor and ex-U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh (the strongest GOP statewide candidate in PA at the time) in the Senate special election caused by the death of John Heinz.
But, sure, harp on what Santorum may have said in 1994 instead of what he did since that time, and ignore what Newt has said on the issue: that’s a great response to a story about how Tom Tancredo, Mr. Border Security himself, has endorsed Rick Santorum.
Tancredo is a great man.
Yes some are in the Romney and Obama band wagon....
Good point(sarc)
I was asking for a specific link, that was my question, and I wasn’t even talking to you...
Rick The Splitter Santorum cannot win, when was the last time you shook hands with reality? Vote for Newt. And think about making a donation, believe me, you’ll be glad you did..

I like people who stick to principles over party, so I can’t find any fault. He should endorse the guy who shares most of his beliefs. There is nothing wrong with that.
“Do you think that its possible for conservatives with good intentions to prefer Santorum over Newt?”
Yes. I’m sorry if I gave the wrong impression.
I supported Santorum, along with Gingrich, beyond the Iowa Caucus. But I get a gut feeling, listening to Newt, that his heart is really in it. Santorum seems to scripted to me.
I really respect Tom Tancredo. A lot of people wrote him in last presidential election.
Go Santorum! If you win a state or two, people will come around!
I just can’t wait for Your boy Newt to win. I can hear the introduction at the inauguration party. Ladies and Gentlemen, The President of the United States and the First Homewrecker. That should go over real well. And Mitt? Since 1988, 24 years and 4 highly educated presidents all from the Ivy League and now possibly one more in Mitt Romney. Ask yourself, are we better off with the Superior Ivy Leagers in the Presidency?
Y’ll have fun now hear.
Tell it to a Newt supporter genius.
Santorum has not been facing the smears and attacks by Romney or the media or the establishment yet his poll numbers are still low. The man has been given a free pass..he should be soaring. He won’t win so why does he stay in?
