No man who really thinks he has a chance at occupying the Oval Office would ever find it necessary to use 99 per cent -- yes, that's right, 99 per cent -- of his own massive advertising budget to tear down his chief opponent.

True.

In Iowa, Gingrich was running a relentlessly positive campaign. He refused to say bad things about Republicans. Mitt went negative in a big way and started to trash Gingrich. Newt's response was a mellow statement that going negative was a bad idea for any Republican.

Well, it worked out OK for Romney.

Romney kept going negative and kept telling lies about Gingrich. Eventually, Newt responded in kind and also went nehative.

Media response -- "Whoa!! Do you see how angry Newt is?? Boy, he's really going negative, huh? That's going to hurt him!!"

Now, in Florida, Romney spent 99% of his money going negative.

Again: Media response -- "Whoa!! Do you see how angry Newt is?? Boy, he really wnet negative, huh? That's what killed his chances!!"

The thing that’s really astounding is how FOXNEWS has joined the MSM in their bias against Gingrich. What they used to complain that the MSM does for Obama, they now do for Romney.

Mitt probably won’t go negative in the general election though
