I came home and was totally bummed by the results so far. I looked for anything on FR to cheer me up. Finally I succumbed and went to the former-other favorite website Drudge and begrudgingly clicked on the 'Landslide' article - blah blah blah and there, at the very bottom - I found my glimmer of hope: In a positive sign for Gingrich, exit polls showed evangelical voters trending for the former House speaker. The exit polls showed Gingrich with 40 percent among that group, and Romney with 36 percent.
But the margin was wider for Romney among seniors and Hispanics. Half of the seniors polled were supporting Romney, while 35 percent backed Gingrich. Romney also led Gingrich 56-29 percent among Hispanic voters, the largest minority in the state, exit polling showed.
Voters overwhelmingly went for Romney among those who said winning in November is the most important quality in a Republican nominee. But for voters who valued "true conservative" credentials as their top quality, Gingrich led with 46 percent, followed by Santorum at 26 percent and Paul at 16 percent. Among those voters, Romney was last with 11 percent.

The only message they understand is one where THEY lose something. There is no "us" to them, other than votes.
And even that is distorted, because the politicians respond to the politically-connected (which is different from voters), knowing that the voters can easily be persuaded to vote for the lesser of two evils.
Yes true conservatives are considering persons with brain and will and not collective masses.
So far only individual people are voting and are supposed to make their own choice.
Don’t know in what world you are living with no MSM, no tricks and traps, no Soros ,Buffet...and croocks.
BTW what are you proposing
“Limbaugh has said he wants the fight to go on for months.
He has said he will vote for whoever is the nominee in November.
I used to feel that way but I will not vote for Romney, ever.”
Ditto.
“The problem is that crybaby conservatives who spend their time preaching to each other, ignore the masses, then complain when the masses, who vote, don’t vote their way.”
As I’ve been posting for weeks. . . . Ignoring the masses spells doom for the right. The Dems always know this. We never get it.
Lets not get crazy! Coke and New Coke are still a far cry from Sprite!
I have been to FL many times, they don't even have a 'southern accent'. Consider this fact:
"two-thirds of the population was born in another state, the second highest in the country"
The right wing had choice in Jon Huntsman who was more electable and conservative than Romney and Gingrich combined but didn’t even vote their own way apparently.
Insult conservatives ? Worked across party lines ? Anyone that allowed their hurt feelings to get in the way of the fate of the nation I can see how non-pandering straight talk might be too much to take. The problem is not with the candidate but with the a Tea Party era in which the priorities of Republican voters can be hard to assess and has directly led to the total farce of an election unfolding before our eyes in Florida.
It's over. I support Newt, but he's no Ronald Reagan. Besides, Reagan had a superb inner circle. Newt doesn't even have a 'circle', let alone an 'inner' one, and a good one. His staff is terrible, and he's getting horrible advice on campaign ads. It's over, unless Sarah Palin gets in with the full support of the Tea Party organizations.
Ditto. Same here.
I will sit this one out and let Romney and the Establishment go down in flames in November. Mark my words, I refuse to vote for another useless piece of crap. Let the current piece of crap in there until we get the right one in. We’ll need to concentrate and do our best job to hold the Legislature to hold off Obama.
As things stand, I will never hear Limbaugh’s voice over the radio ever again.
“But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
(Matthew 5:28)
This is the standard Christ has established for us. Every candidate is a sinner. You talk to me about Newt Gingrich and I’ll show you a man who has repented. From all I can see, he has turned from sin. This is what we look for.
Now see if you can understand why true conservatives vote the way they do.
Not getting your point, sorry.
OBAMney spent 15 million dollars. I used to be against limiting money in campaigns, now I’m not so sure.
Yes, I agree, a lot of early voters in FL. would like to have it back!!
Moreover, to win in November, a GOP candidate must have the heart and soul of the base!!
This guy has all but ‘spit’ on the base, which he has no connection nor commonality with.
The ‘establishment’ will give this election to the Dem’s again in November. Thanks a lot Mr. Rove!
This is true: Florida — at least the southern two-thirds of it — is really not a “southern state” at all. Oh, and it’s also “snowbird” season, so the NE population is at its maximum.... undoubtedly with a lot of people registered to vote in both of their homes... which is why Romney had little trouble getting people to vote for a NEastern Yankee.
Newt needs to simplify. Everybody knows he can give a great speech. Now can he make it simple enough for everyone to understand? Reagan figured this out — it’s a soundbite era. Newt needs to do this. Suggestions:
1. If you don’t like Obamacare, then you cannot vote for Mitt — he INVENTED the thing.
2. If you like your healthcare, you have only one chance to keep it: vote for me.
Now or never, Newt.
Thanks for the ping!
