“Why is it no one ever calls for Ron Paul to drop out?”
Because he’s a nut and won’t listen,,, and because he attracts more college dems who are dissappointed in Obama than he does repubs?

Because Snoop Dog endorsed him, silly. /s
Karl Rove was on Greta tonight. He said that if Santorum dropped out, his voters would split 50/50 between Gingrich and Romney.
What’s he smoking?
That should have been focused on more actually. I notice that Romney's doing good among the 65+ crowd. I know seniors who actually want Obamacare. Sad but true. If only they looked into it deeper they would understand what you had said about Medicare.
No.
This is like the Indians waiting for the buffalo to return, or the guys on Bataan waiting for help from the US fleet in 1941.It just aint going to happen—The Newt is done—beaten by the Media and the GOP itself. If it happens—I will cheer—but if it does—there will be snow in He*l.
The media narrative if Newt wins will be “on to the next state go go go Romney”. If Newt loses the media narrative will be “this race is over”.
He’s not smoking anything. He wants Romney to win therefore he wants Santorum to stay.
Probably due to AARP propaganda.
And due to the fact most older folks get their “news” fom the MSM.
I think this is called an opinion piece. He is just speculating. Nothing based on fact indicates that even Newt thinks he will win. He is saying the same things that Romney did leading up to SC.
But there are 46 (or 56 if you count like Obama) states left. This roller coaster is in the early part of the ride.
Because no one has a clue where his voters will go. They don't naturally align to any of the other 3 candidates. I suspect many of his voters will go to the democrat party because they are more likely to legalize drugs.
With PPP @ 8pts, IA @ 5/6pts, and this article, something is going on big time ...
Actually that is what most pollsters have shown... that Santorum’s vote would split about 50/50. Thats why I keep saying getting Santorum out does not significantly help either Newt or Romney. Most of the pollsters ask a myriad of possible scenarios. I have seen several in Florida that have asked if it were a 2 way between Newt and Mitt. About the same spread as with all 4 in it. Newt has to earn this. Can’t depend on anyone else helping you anymore.
If Paul drops out, most of his votes will go no where. Most are young, idealistic types that won’t even vote. Because they think all politicians are scum (except Paul).
Newt *should* win Texas, but it’s not a winner take all. I think he can even take California. The conservatives there can be quite conservative...it’s just that there are too many liberals out there. But it’s not winner take all either.
Here’s the winner takes all Primaries.
Arizona
Connecticut
Delaware
DC
Florida
Missouri
Montana
New Jersey
New York
Utah
Vermont
Virginia.
I believe all those favor Romney at this point. I found this list on ehow.com so it may be wrong. So I think Newt does have an uphill climb—we need Romney to implode or some shocking news to wreck his ship.
Fox news is very popular in The Villages.
Good point that this is only contest no. 4 out of more than 50.
It’s winner-take-all...winning by 1 vote is equal to winning by 1 million votes. And so is losing. This contest is enormous. I would say that Newt winning it would make him extremely likely to be the nominee. If Mitt wins it, it gives Newt an enormous uphill battle ahead, and makes Mitt somewhat likely to be the nominee. Newt’s ace-in-the-hole if he loses tomorrow is if Santorum drops out. If Santorum exits, Newt would probably become the frontrunner again. If not, then all the odds are on Mitt. You could read it on Karl Rove’s face tonight...he severely dodged Greta’s question of whether Santorum getting out would help Newt. Brit Hume on O’Reilly was pushing hardcore for “all the candidates” to stay in the race because “you never know what could happen.” Translation: “If Rick stays in, we pretty much know Mitt will win it.”
Rule # 45 applies here: Pray as if it all depended on God; work as if it all depended on you.
