The mother should be charged!

If one allows dogs to go around biting people, they will be charged.....so why shouldn't a mother who allows her son to assault people ona regular basis?

The shooter was just helping us with the gene pool.

That robber wasn't smart enough to live.

Technically speaking, the mother is correct.

He didn’t have to die. He also didn’t have to decide to be a thug and spend his time harming people.

“The family acknowledges Johnson’s actions were wrong, but they question why a warning shot couldn’t have been fired first.”

Because the dirtbag might get away and harm another human being? Just throwin’ it out there..

A warning shot? Why waste a perfectly good round?

recent days a Facebook memorial page has been flooded with sometimes hateful posts -- referring to Johnson as a "thug" who died like the dog he was.

That's not hate, that's accuracy. Pretty much gets it right.

Julius Johnson killed on the job.
Johnson's mother, Idella Hopkins George.
Johnson's sister, Ashley Jones.

Don't any families in the hood have the same last name?

why a warning shot couldn't have been fired first

No legitimate professional, Law Enforcement, or Military weapons training endorses or even condones "warning shots". A weapon is meant to stop, subdue, and kill an assailant. In this case that's what it did, as it should have.

If I decide that my life, property, or family is in jeopardy and I draw my weapon somebody is going to die. I don't take prisoners and I don't call 911 while the perp has a pulse.

I am sad for the parents. But parents tell your frickin’ kids that people are entitled to arm themselves and it is dangerous to assault people. You just might get killed.

Sorry ma'am but if your son had not chosen the path of robbing innocent people, he just might still be alive.

The family acknowledges Johnson's actions were wrong, but they question why a warning shot couldn't have been fired first.

Because "warning shots" can kill innocent bystanders.

And there is no such thing as "shoot to wound," because arteries are everywhere.

In recent days a Facebook memorial page has been flooded with sometimes hateful posts -- referring to Johnson as a "thug" who died like the dog he was. For his family, dealing with a tragedy and questions about what more they could have done, the words have been painful.

Not as painful as being beaten and robbed by this thug.

Many criminals NEVER stop until they are incarcerated...

Prosecutors say Johnson, who was already on probation for aggravated assault, robbed two men in West Reading and was attempting to rob a third...

...or eliminated

Justice is most efficiently served whenever the innocent victim can turn the tables on the criminal.

“The family acknowledges Johnson's actions were wrong, but they question why a warning shot couldn't have been fired first.”

Had I been conducting my life like this guy, there would
have been warning shots fired BY my family. Grandpa would
have put one right over my head and promised the next would
be lower if needed. (I'm only exaggerating slightly)
