I get the vanilla Google page, so whatever you are seeing is quite different. You may want to post a screen cap.

I don't know, but under the search box, there's text that reads "Watch President Obama answer your questions. Live on YouTube tonight at 5:30 pm ET."
Don't remember ever seeing that before, but I have to admit I'm not a huge Google person.

Watched any YouTube videos lately? Ewwwwwww!

Google had a similar link for Obama's State of the Union Speech.
Some folks say that Google is simply promoting their streaming capability, but it does come across as a way to promote all of the super cool stuff our prez is doing on our behalf. Free campaign advertising, as it were.

There’s nothing there. Just GOOGLE with different colors. I think you must be seeing something we are not.

I see it. Did they get paid for it? I think they are biased in some cases, but in most, they’re just biased toward their bottom line.

Google owns YouTube. They’re advertising for an event on their site. I don’t see the big deal.

I don’t use Google - try bing.com
To: napscoordinator
Oh. it’s NOT the logo itself.....it’s what’s UNDER it.
As in “Watch President Obama answer your questions live tonight at 5:30pm Eastern.”
Would they have done that for President Bush?
WILL they do that for the next President if it ISN’T Obama?

Hmmm...perhaps Google’s algorithms have determined that you are a Democrat or a leftward-leaning independent; most of us are not, and this is why we don’t see it :)

Big deal. Google developed / owned capabilities are heavily involved in the medium that is broadcasting it.
This is like a 4:30 TV news announcement telling you to watch at 5:00 because that station has exclusive coverage of something.
It's called advertising.
