WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Former presidential hopeful Herman Cain threw his support behind Newt Gingrich Saturday night, providing the former House speaker with a late boost just days before Florida's primary.
Cain, a tea party favorite, endorsed his fellow Georgian at a GOP fundraiser Saturday calling him "a patriot."

Agreed and I personally believe that Mr. Cain wanted to help Mr. Newt get some traction because Mr. Newt was trailing behind the pack while Mr. Cain was the "frontrunner". They are friends and they were very respectful towards each other in that debate but it was pretty clear that Mr. Newt is much more knowledgeable in many things involving the function of government.
As a side note, I sure wish he hadn't blamed Rick Perry for that mess and I hope he will apologize to Mr. Perry for that because it's becoming quite apparent that Mitt Romney had something to do with that so-called "sexual harassment" and "lying non-mistress" crap, given his "scorched earth" tactics with Mr. Newt.
I hope that Herman Cain has the opportunity to speak before many groups of people on behalf of Newt before Tuesday! I would much rather that he speak on his own qualifications, of course, but ABR! Anyone But Romney!

As a paid FNC contributor, she’s probably gone as far as she legally can in subtly endorsing Newt without violating her contract. It’s also likely why Todd officially endorsed Newt.
Sometimes you have to read between the not-so-subtle lines, ya know? It’s pretty obvious, given all she’s said lately, that Sarah endorses Newt.
I must have not made my point very well... I was suggesting that the THREAT of a true Tea Party Conservative, big named person, running as a indy, would prompt people to reconsider voting for Romney.
If detectability in their minds is the reason they are voting Romney? Then they better re think because POPULAR TEA PARTY PERSON (fill in the blank) is promising to run as a independent if Romney is the nominee.
Under that threat, Romney is not very electable, as you say the vote is split.
But beside that...How do we know if Romney elected is better than Obama? If Romney wins the WH he will not owe Social Conservatives Tea Party folks anything, it will be moderates that elected him.
What reason would there be for him to appoint anything but moderate liberal judges to the Supreme Court?
If he wins the WH, his best chance of being re elected might just be to go with his Mass liberal agenda.
If Romney wins, the Tea Party will have failed
