The supposed consensus on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.
The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century.
Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997.

The Pilgrims proved that socialism doesn’t work, and that was back in 1622! Still the Republicrats try to sell it too us over and over again.
No Sunspots for You.
So far no one has been able to explain a downside to global warming for us northerners. We’ve had a very warm winter here in southern Michigan and I’m not hearing a lot of complaining.
Today is the first day in a while where its supposed to stay just below freezing and its expected to get back up into the mid 40s by tuesday.
Oh the horror of a longer growing season.
The GW scam has sucked $trillions out of the world’s economies, killed viable businesses, propped up failed ones and slowed economies all in the name of protecting the planet. Years from now, people will point to this as a major contributing factor our our current financial ruin.
Many people knew this but where silenced by the cult of GW. Dare mention something not inline with the correct narrative and watch your grant money vanish, promotions stop and access to new project halted. This is like a giant psychological experiment in thought control via positive and negative reinforcements. See GW and get a cookie, can’t see it and no cookie for you.
I can’t even go ice fishing this year but I’ll try to endure.
But still they stick CO2 and man-made global warming into the mix. Amazing, they can’t give it up.
All predicted by the all-knowing, all-seeing Goracle ;-)
It looks like the "science" of turning around GW is working on a retroactive basis. Imagine the horible heat we would be experiencing if they hadn't sounded the alarm...
You'd think that Algore and other folks would be relieved and glad to hear this news, but I doubt it will appease them even if temps drop more than they were forecast to rise - it really cuts into the scam's profit margin.
That being said...one of the FIRST things strangers inevitably ask me when they find out my profession is about AGW. They get an EAR full. I have the presentation down to about 6 minutes. A couple once asked me what I thought about "global warming" on a ski-lift at Breckenridge. They had NOWHERE to go. They were New Yorkers. Libs.
The LAST question I ALWAYS ask is this: "But lets ASSUME (after ALL I have just said) that I am wrong and AGW is happening: In the HISTORY of mankind...and we have multiple relatively rapid rises in global temps...The Egyptian Warm Period...the Roman warm period...the medieval warm period...Now...in the HISTORY of mankind...WHEN has global WARMING EVER been a negative? It's only global COOLING that's been a climate negative and stopped civilization...not GW. GW has always led to humanity THRIVING. Can you or has anyone EVER shown us how GW would have an overall NET negative impact?
"No...because it wouldn't. Wouldn't you like a warmer winter? Don't you think the ships would like easier passage through the ice packs? Wouldn't that bring the cost of goods down?"
Stunned Silence.
But, that can't possibly be the case! CO2 levels are still rising, and everybody knows that Earth's temperature is exclusively determined by CO2 levels! All the climate models say so! (Do I really need a /sarc here?)
A warmer Earth would have Siberia and Canada becoming viable agricultural areas, with a huge impact on being able to feed the world. Warmer oceans mean more evaporation and more rainfall, with fewer droughts.
After the summer of 2011 here in Texas I welcome the cooling. But, we could use all the rain we can get.
