4 of the 5 days polled in this tracking poll were after at least one of this week's debates that allegedly damaged Gingrich. This Gallup poll, plus this week's national polls by NBC/Wall Street Journal & Rasmussen all show that Gingrich is the national front-runner. Gingrich may very well lose in Florida. But Florida is 50 delegates out of the 1,144 required to clinch the nomination. So long as we don't allow the Florida result & the MSM narrative demoralize us, and we continue to give the Gingrich campaign our time & contributions, Gingrich still has more than a fighting chance to win the Republican nomination.

I wish Newt would knock off the negative campaigning. I would be far more inclined to listen to him if I didnt have to wade through all that whiney negative crap. Ignore the gutter politics, stay away from the debates, and take the high ground and I’ll feel better about the choice..

Problem is if Mitt wins FL, he is going to get a big bump nationally.

Compared to the smear merchant Romney, Newt has been a saint in this campaign! Romney has attacked and smeared anyone who was a threat to his coronation because he knows he can’t win the GOP nomination with his liberal statist record!

I wish Newt would knock off the negative campaigning.

I wish Mitt would knock off the negative campaigning and the lies. Newt has so much to work with about Mitt. I say keep up the negative campaigning, Newt, and then some.

That’s exactly what he did here in Iowa. And you know how that worked out.

Newts polling numbers dropped about 20% in just one week due to the constant negative radio, robocalls, and daily bulk mailers that Romney put out.

I think that sometimes we FReepers forget that the vast majority of sheeple aren’t near as politically informed as we are. Whether we like it or not, negative campaign tactics work.

Fingies and toesies crossed here in TN for Newt in FL..

may most of those 200,000 early votes be Dem ballots for Obama and the GOP ones for Newt,

and some for Santorum and Paul...

If too many of them are for Romney it will be hairy...

Exactly. That's why the Rino E is pulling out all the stops and Mitt is campaigning so desperately. Most likely, however Florida goes, the nation goes.

Sadly I’m afraid Republicans are going to lose this election.

I wanted Cain but whoever made sure he’d not make it, never mind we tolerated a whole lot worse in Bubba for 8 years.

Obama has to be laughing. All he has to do is sit back, look somewhat presidential, do a late night talk show here and there and wait to see whatever bloody and battered candidate is left standing. It’s viscous and a turnoff.

If I didn’t want Obama out so bad I’d not vote this year.

I agree. I’d much rather Newt lose while being the standard-bearer of conservative ideals and economic freedom than to win by saying whatever it takes to get the votes and demeaning his opponents. I think SC proved this approach will work (and he can go as negative as he wants against the Lamestream Media!)

I heard someone on Fox News last night say the big gambling entrepreneur who promised more money has not come through, and that’s why Newt’s not able to run much TV in Florida.

Sheeesh ...and just how would he get his message out in the scenario you have painted?

Newt got crushed in Iowa when he failed to respond quickly to the $3 million negative campaign waged by Romney. Following, the consensus was that Newt waited too long. Recall, he was suggesting that he would stay positive. Sorry, that ain't going to work in 2012.

By the way, if this negative is bothering you, I wonder how you will feel when $1 billion (with a B) gets waged against the Republican candidate in the general election...

Lastly, no debates? You lost me on that one.

I voted absentee in SC for Newt, as I was out of the country the day of the primary. Boy, was I sure surprised and pleased to learn that Newt had won, and by a good, solid margin. Am hoping for the same in FL.

I don’t like it either. If Newt can pull off Florida, I see it getting more ugly than it has already been. Mitt saw 2008 slip away from him. I don’t think he’s going to bow out as easily this time.
